After a week of waiting, the time had finally come. Rimuru and Ultima stood at the dock, watching as the man who had coated their ship with the special resin finished the final touches. The Yarukiman Mangrove resin, now shimmering over their ship, would allow them to descend into the depths of the ocean and reach Fishman Island, which lay thousands of meters beneath the surface.
The island was one of the final challenges before entering the New World, the second half of the Grand Line where the seas became even more unpredictable and dangerous. But neither Rimuru nor Ultima were particularly concerned about the dangers.
The coating process had taken longer than expected, mostly because the man performing the coating worked meticulously, ensuring every inch of the ship was covered with the protective resin. It was a delicate process, and while Ultima had grown increasingly impatient, Rimuru had kept her occupied with their usual training in Haki.
Today, though, it was finally finished.
The man stood up, wiping sweat from his brow, and nodded toward them. "It's done. Your ship is fully coated. You'll be able to descend to Fishman Island without any issues."
Rimuru smiled and tossed him a heavy pouch filled with gold and jewels—far more than the man had expected. His eyes widened in disbelief as he caught it.
"Th-This is way too much!" the man stammered, looking between the bag and Rimuru.
"Consider it a tip for a job well done," Rimuru replied with a grin. "We like to make sure people are rewarded properly for their hard work."
Ultima, standing beside Rimuru with her arms crossed, smirked. "Especially when it means we can finally get moving."
The man, still in shock, bowed repeatedly. "Thank you! Thank you so much! I wish you safe travels to Fishman Island. But... be careful. The descent can be dangerous, and the sea beasts—"
Ultima interrupted, her eyes gleaming with excitement. "Sea beasts? I was hoping for something fun on the way down."
Rimuru chuckled. "We'll be fine. Don't worry."
With that, the two of them boarded their ship, and the man watched in awe as they prepared to set sail. As soon as they stepped aboard, the coating activated, and the ship began to sink into the ocean, bubbles of resin forming around it to protect it from the crushing pressure of the deep sea.
Ultima, standing at the bow of the ship, crossed her arms and looked out over the edge as they began to descend. "Finally, some action. I've heard the sea beasts near Fishman Island are massive. I hope they're not all scared off by the time we get down there."
Rimuru, taking his place at the helm, smiled. "Oh, I wouldn't worry about that. There's plenty to look forward to once we reach Fishman Island."
As the ship descended deeper and deeper into the ocean, the world above faded into a hazy blue. The light from the surface grew dimmer, and soon, all around them was nothing but the vast expanse of the deep sea. The pressure increased, but the ship's coating held strong, creating an air pocket around them that allowed them to breathe and remain unaffected by the crushing depths.
For a while, they sailed in silence, with only the sounds of the ocean currents and the occasional creaking of the ship filling the air. But as they ventured further, Ultima's impatience began to show.
"So... where are these sea beasts?" she asked, her voice tinged with disappointment. "This is supposed to be one of the most dangerous parts of the Grand Line, right? I was hoping for a little more excitement."
