As I sprinted through the park, my heart raced with dread. Taehyung’s message had sent a chill down my spine,
Ishita needs you. Please pick her up.
The urgency in his words haunted me, amplifying my anxiety with every step.
When I finally reached the waterfall, the sight that met me stole my breath. She was slumped over on a rock, her head buried in her hands, the vibrant surroundings fading into a blur.
She looked utterly lost, like a shell of the woman I loved.
“Ishita!” I called, rushing to her side. The moment I knelt beside her, something inside me twisted with fear.
“What’s wrong?”
Slowly, she looked up. Her eyes were red and hollow, filled with a profound sadness that struck me like a punch to the gut.
“Jungkook…” she whispered, her voice fragile, almost lifeless.
Without thinking, I scooped her into my arms. To my surprise, she didn’t protest, instead, she leaned into my touch, her body feeling cold against mine.
I held her tightly, wanting to shield her from whatever darkness had consumed her.
“I’ve got you,” I murmured, desperate to convey my support. But the weight of her despair pressed down on me.
“Please, tell me what’s wrong.”
She didn’t respond right away, just stared blankly ahead at the rushing water, her expression vacant.
It was as if the world around her had lost all color. “I can’t do this,” she finally said, her voice barely above a whisper.
My heart sank at her words. “Do what? You’re not alone, Sweetheart. I’m here for you,” I urged, trying to break through the fog that seemed to envelop her.
But she shook her head, tears spilling down her cheeks. “I didn’t want any of this. I feel so… dead inside.” The pain in her words echoed in my chest, and I felt a surge of helplessness.
