"Taehyung?" Her voice was a whisper, laced with confusion. The eagerness in her eyes only served to inflame my anger. I snapped, "Shut up!" The words came out harsher than intended, reflecting the storm raging inside me. I saw the hurt in her eyes, but I couldn't let that sway me. Not yet.
My hand moved almost instinctively, slapping her across the face. The immediate look of pain mirrored the ache in my heart. Regret and fury warred within me—regret for the hurt I'd caused and fury at the betrayal that had driven me to this point.
I thrust my phone towards her, my voice trembling with barely contained emotion. "What the hell is this?" I demanded. The headline on the screen was a dagger, each word a fresh stab to my heart.
"Explosive Bombshell: BTS's Golden Maknae Jeon Jungkook and Solo Sensation Ishita Choudhary Secretly Wed for a Month—The Unbelievable Details Behind the Scandal That Shocks the World!"
She grabbed the phone, her eyes scanning the headline, then met my gaze with tears beginning to form.
"That's not true. None of it," she said, her voice trembling.
I clenched my teeth, struggling to suppress the turmoil inside. "Don't feed me that bullshit. The article even has evidence!" I shot back, my voice a mixture of hurt and anger.
She immediately began scrolling, her eyes widening as if she were seeing the details for the first time. I scoffed inwardly. She was adept at pretense, just as she had pretended to love me.
"Marriage papers..." she mumbled, her voice breaking. I took the phone back and showed her a photograph. "Isn't this your signature on the papers? Isn't this you, smiling in a wedding dress with Jungkook?" I asked, my voice cold.
She looked away, taking a deep breath. "T... that's me, but... I... I don't know where—"
I threw my phone against the wall, unable to endure her lies any longer. The screen shattered, mirroring the broken pieces of trust and affection I had left.
Her silence was palpable, filling the space between us with a thick tension. I watched as she struggled to maintain her composure, her hands shaking.
"How could you do this to me?" I asked, my voice cracking with the weight of my emotions. "We were supposed to be building a future together. How could you betray me like this?"
