Christmas at the Everwood manor was always so dull, there was nothing magical about it. The day came around but the sisters weren't happy, not like other kids. They never understood why the kids around them were so excited about the day, it wasn't special after all.

The small family was sitting at the big table, that looked very empty. It was quiet and the only thing heard were the clatters of the plates and glasses.

The two girls already received there presents the same way they did each year. When they walked downstairs there mother would give them a few presents each.

Rosalie received a vanilla cupcake candle, lots of blueberry ring pops, clothing, expensive jewelry and a straightener that she had been begging her mom to give her.

While the girls kept on eating the food their mothers voice perked up.

"How was school this year girls?"

"It was great, I did a lot of new friends" Valentine looked up to her mother with a smile.

"And you Rosalie?" She faced her other daughter.

"Good" she responded blandly not glancing towards her mother.

"Any boys that are interested in you?" Her mother tried to keep the conversation going.

It was weird for Rosalie to speak to her mother about any kind of stuff so she lied.

"Not that I know" she said.

"I thought that Evan was interested in you?" Valentine looked at her sister confused, from whom she only received a glare.

"Is that so? Why would you lie then?"
