Eva stood with her nose towards the peak of the huge skyscraper, The Moon Hotels logo above the entry, trying to see the top from all the way down and looking like she had been set on a pause while other fellow office employees made their way around her,

8:45 in the Monday morning.

"Okay, Eva. First day. You got this!'' She took in a deep breath and let the shoulders down. All too familiar with first days, Eva took confident steps towards the revolving doors ahead. Usually she would prefer comfortable clothes, such as workout leggings and wide legged jeans with oversized sweatshirts, white cropped t-shirts and other basics. But starting at a new job located in the luxurious side of the city, and in an office environment demanded a proper attire. That's when Sara stepped in with her absolute sense for fashion. Once Eva's last paychecks from the part-time jobs dropped on her bank account, Sara insisted they go shopping for something appropriate.

Nothing too excessive, just a few essential pieces to pick and mix.

''Excuse me —'' Eva leaned against the receptions counter, a young woman probably also in her twenties greeting her with a friendly customer service smile, ''Hi, my name's Evangeline Jones. It's my first day.'' She handed her ID just in case.

''Oh!'' The young woman started to scramble through the table, searching for something, ''Here! Mr. Emerson came early today and personally delivered this for you.'' She held out an envelope. Inside was a lanyard with the company logo along with Eva's name on a card hanging from it, ''You need that to get through the elevators and the corridors. Most places are locked, essentially. You'll get one with your photo on it later.''

''Perfect, thank you.'' Eva hung it from her neck, and by doing so, everything felt infinitely more real. As if sealing the final deal.

''Evangeline Jones?'' A man with blond curly hair approached out of nowhere, snapping Eva from proudly admiring her name on the keycard.

''Eva! — Just Eva.. Is fine.'' She rushed to correct, feeling a bit too hasty to do so, thus she made up for it with the brightest smile.

''Well, we have to get that right from the start! Correction — Eva.'' The man who looked like straight out of a magazine lowered his chin with a light-hearted grin, ''My name is Adam Lee. Nice to meet you. I'll be showing you around today, and starting from tomorrow you'll work with Mr. Emerson's assistant Kevin Moore.''

Eva nodded along, trying to take notes on all the new names thrown at her. Careful not to let them slip right out of the other ear as it always tended to happen — and there they went, ''Dammit, lucky for the keycards..'' She stealthily glanced at the mans own, tangling against the light blue button-up shirt.

Cafeteria, employee lounge for breaks, outside terrace and so much more later, Eva felt as if she had only listened to Adam talk nonstop — apparently met her equal. Aside from that, every corner of the office felt new and fresh. Plants and wide open spaces, large windows with the best view. At times, it was hard to stop staring at the carefully designed details.

''And this beauty here is your desk.'' Adam pulled out the chair ready. Right opposite from the CEO Benjamin Emerson's office. Walls made out of windows, she could see him having a phone call on a huge brown vintage leather chair, ''Right beside you is assistant Moore's desk, and behind you —''

''Me!'' Chimed in a cheerful sound similar to an early little bird, ''Hi, good morning!'' The young lady extended her arm for a shake, just as quick as she had arrived.

''Her name is—'' Adam began, much more unenthusiastically compared to earlier, yet not allowed to finish.

''Rosie Castillo!'' Her hair perfectly silky, curled, platinum blond just above the shoulders and embellished with pins that had pearls in them, her name fit for a royal princess. Fashion style? Very extravagant.
