Words were lacking for the trio of hunters to fully describe the feeling that overwhelmed them in the face of the grandeur unfolding before them.
Defying entirely the logic and laws of the world they knew, a landscape of megalomaniacal proportions stretched beyond the horizon, disappearing into infinite vastness. Ebony and jade mountains rose majestically from the darkness, reaching up to touch the celestial clouds, while small islands floated gracefully among them. These islands were interconnected by wooden and iron bridges that, like the islands themselves, defied gravity, hanging in the air without apparent support. Crystal-clear springs flowed from within the mountains, creating imposing waterfalls that cascaded into the valleys, transforming into great rivers that wound through the entire expanse of the central valley before vanishing into darkness. Hundreds of traditional Japanese-style residences and buildings came together to form a metropolis, skillfully positioned over the valley and extending across the floating mountains and islands.
In the city streets, hundreds of demons strolled calmly, sharing lively conversations and enjoying everyday life in their routines. Occasionally, they would greet Nezuko and the new hunters with gentle gestures, as if they were simply living through another ordinary night in those lands.
— This is... Simply... - Wide-eyed, Haruto tried to comprehend everything he observed. However, the more he explored the city and the surrounding landscape, the more confused his thoughts became. Eventually, he gave up trying to understand it on his own and turned to Nezuko, asking: — Kamado-san, how can something like this exist in our world?
Haruto wasn't the only one perplexed. Both Keiko and Kota turned toward Nezuko as soon as the question was asked, eagerly awaiting her response.
¢ Naturally, it would be impossible for us to build something like this. Even if Nakime had hundreds of clones and they all joined forces to create a dimension like this, it would still be impossible. At most, they could manipulate it. - Nezuko explained as she led the group through the city streets. ¢ That's why this place wasn't built by human or demonic hands; it was created by divine will.
— Wait a moment, 'divine will'? Are you really telling us that this place was built by a deity?!
¢ Deities, Keiko. More than one, in fact. Everything you see here, from the dust of the earth to the stars in the sky, was brought into existence by the combined divine will of dozens of gods with a purpose. The entire landscape was envisioned by these deities, and their servants constructed this city so that demons who desired to live in peace could enjoy their eternal lives until a cure was found. Of course... - Nezuko paused for a moment, glancing at a demon couple who were enjoying a romantic rendezvous under the moonlight, sitting beneath a cherry blossom tree. ¢ Some no longer wish to return to being human, but that doesn't mean they are evil. - she concluded, nodding gently toward the couple before continuing to walk.
— Are we seriously considering the existence of deities? I mean... - Kota murmured, struggling to accept the reality before his eyes, even though denying the authenticity of the unfolding landscape was impossible.
It was like denying the existence of the sun as it continued to cast its light upon the earth.
¢ In this world, many truths remain hidden from our eyes. Several members of our organization prefer to deny or turn a blind eye to these truths, but you are different. As the strongest in your divisions and future pillars, you have the responsibility to protect not only Japan but the entire world. - as they conversed, they reached a grand staircase that extended into the air, leading to one of the numerous floating islands. ¢ Therefore, you cannot deny what is before you; instead, you must face the future, the unknown.
