"What.. You- Why would you do that?! Delete it, Ryuzaki. This isn't funny!" Light demanded, feeling the previous anger surge into his veins. A moment ago, they had been locked in a heated kiss, and now, Light had to pivot, play the role, and manipulate the situation to his advantage. "You said you wouldn't-"

L, as usual, remained unnervingly calm, tilting his head as if studying Light's outburst. "Why?" he asked, his voice flat but with an eerie edge.  "I've always recorded you. I find your reactions... interesting. I like to observe you."

Light didn't know if that was L's creepy way of flirting, or just an accusation buried beneath several layers, but either way the confusion just made it worse. Though, having L so easily explain it made him feel a tad bit better.

"Delete it!"

L regarded him with his usual expression, dark eyes watching, waiting. "As you wish," L responded with a detached indifference that nearly drove Light mad. But just as Light exhaled, thinking he had won this round, a thought sparked in his mind—a curiosity that refused to let go. What footage does  L have of me?

"Wait." Quickly Light shook his head. "First, show me. I need to know how long this has been going on." He demanded.

L's gaze lingered on Light, unreadable and intense, before he gave a slow nod. Without a word, L turned, leading Light to a secret compartment hidden behind the wall. As L pressed a few buttons, revealing screens filled with past recordings, Light's eyes widened, taking in the sheer scope of L's surveillance.

The setup was meticulous—screens, wires, all carefully hidden, displaying a live feed of the various rooms they had spent time in. Light wondered if the one L referred to as "Watari" also had a similar setup--or mayhaps, L kept more from him...

So this is where he's been spying on me.

It mattered not if that was true, because now he knew. Light mentally noted where all the cameras had eyes on. L stood beside him, silent but close, observing every reaction as if he were cataloging Light's thoughts for later use. Light's mind raced, but a slow, smile crept across his face.

"Thank you, Ryuzaki," Light said, his voice deceptively calm as he turned to face the detective.

L turned slightly, his lips curling into a faint smile of his own, though his eyes remained sharp. "Is that all?"

Time to turn this in my favor. "Ryuzaki... you underestimate me. I knew what this was from the very beginning."

L's expression didn't falter, but his eyes glittered with curiosity. "Oh?" he said, his voice as calm as ever, but Light could hear the interest hidden beneath.

"I knew it. I knew from the moment you mentioned ice cream," Light began, pacing slowly now, deliberately taking L's attention. " You've always preferred strawberry, so why go out of your way for something different? That was my first clue." He paused, letting the weight of his words sink in. "Then... You talked to the cashier!" He said accusingly. "Everyone knows you avoid unnecessary interaction. You're far too antisocial to engage in meaningless small talk like that, and it immediately struck me as strange."

"And then you said it would be interesting to observe people's reactions, but you've been bent on keeping your identity hidden. You wanted to avoid being seen by anyone who might recognize you chained to me, especially from the university, as it might raise questions. So what better solution then to go to a store that's far away?"

L blinked slowly, intrigued but not giving anything away.

"I knew you were just buying time. . But you miscalculated. I noticed the camera long before you thought I did."
