The sun filtered through the curtains of their shared apartment, casting a warm glow on the two girls as they lay tangled in the sheets. Kim Yooyeon stirred first, blinking against the light as she glanced at the clock. It was a Saturday, and they had nowhere to be. A smile crept across her face as she turned to look at Yoon Seoyeon, still peacefully asleep beside her, her hair a mess of soft waves, framing her face like a halo.
Yooyeon had been captivated by Seoyeon since they were sixteen, sharing dreams, laughter, and countless late-night conversations that felt like they could last forever. They were inseparable, bound by a friendship that blossomed into something deeper over the years. As she watched her girlfriend sleep, Yooyeon's heart swelled with affection.
"Wake up, sleepyhead," Yooyeon whispered, leaning down to place a gentle kiss on Seoyeon's forehead.
Seoyeon stirred, her eyes fluttering open as she stretched like a cat, a soft smile spreading across her lips. "Good morning, love," she murmured, her voice still thick with sleep.
"Good morning," Yooyeon replied, her heart skipping a beat at the sound of the familiar endearment.
"What time is it?" Seoyeon asked, glancing at the clock.
"Late enough that we can stay in bed a little longer," Yooyeon teased, pulling her back into the warmth of the blankets.
Seoyeon giggled, her laughter like music to Yooyeon's ears. "Alright, but only for a few minutes. I want to make us breakfast!"
"You always say that, but you never let me help," Yooyeon pouted playfully.
"Because you always make a mess!" Seoyeon shot back, sticking her tongue out.
"Fine, fine. I promise I'll be good," Yooyeon said, raising her hands in surrender, a mischievous grin on her face.
They spent the next few moments wrapped in each other's arms, enjoying the quiet intimacy that was so natural between them. Yooyeon felt a wave of contentment wash over her; this was her favorite part of every day.
Eventually, the smell of pancakes wafted into their room, coaxing them out of bed. They got dressed quickly, both opting for comfortable outfits—a loose sweater for Seoyeon and a simple t-shirt for Yooyeon. As they made their way to the kitchen, Yooyeon couldn't help but admire the way Seoyeon moved, her confidence and grace turning the mundane task of cooking into something beautiful.
"Okay, chef Seoyeon, what's on the menu today?" Yooyeon asked as she leaned against the counter, watching her girlfriend at work.
"Pancakes, obviously! And fruit on the side," Seoyeon replied, her focus unwavering as she flipped the pancakes with skill.
Yooyeon chuckled, finding it adorable how serious Seoyeon could be about breakfast. "You're amazing, you know that?"
Seoyeon turned, a shy smile creeping onto her face. "Thanks, but it's just pancakes."
"It's not just pancakes when you make them," Yooyeon said, her tone sincere. "You put love into everything."
Seoyeon's cheeks flushed a delicate pink, and she quickly turned back to the stove, hiding her smile. Yooyeon watched her, feeling a pang of affection that made her chest tighten. Seoyeon was her queen, and she couldn't imagine life without her.
As the weeks passed, Yooyeon found herself increasingly aware of the world outside their little bubble. They were both busy with their careers in the entertainment industry, and the pressures began to weigh heavily on Seoyeon. There were rumors swirling about them—about their relationship, their lives, and the inevitable scrutiny that came with being in the public eye.
