You were pissed again. Why have you been so moody lately? You were avoiding eye contact and have been upset since you picked her up.

Lynn knows you had tryouts. Maybe you didn't get in?

She doesn't mind if you don't, Lynn knows you try your best in anything you do. She was just hoping to have you there when they win. Of course, she has the team, but it's you she wants to celebrate it with. It's different with you.

Lynn was currently manning the kitchen aid while you buttered the baking pan. You haven't said a word to her the whole time you've started baking except for 'Get the eggs' and 'Mix them.'

Lynn reaches for her phone and runs to your room upstairs to get your speaker. When she gets back, you don't spare her a glance as you pour the banana batter into the pan.

Lynn clicks on her most recent playlist, the one you sent her. It was filled with slow and mellow instrumentals. She figures it'd make you feel a little better.

When Lynn walks up to you and leans over the counter. She clears her throat, putting on her best smooth voice, "Tell me what's wrong, (Y/N)."

You look up and she can see it in your eyes.

Lynn softens almost immediately. Who hurt you?

She grabs ahold of your shoulder and turns you over to come face to face with her. She was a little taller than you, so when you had to tilt your head to look up at her, it made you look even more adorable. All teary eyes and pouts.

Lynn hugs you tight, she doesn't ask what's wrong 'cause she trusts that you'll tell her. She's all action, no talk. It's the way she's always been. It's all she's been wired to do, all she's ever known.

You melt into her, reciprocating her hug.

She doesn't know how long it lasts, all she knows is you two finish baking the banana bread because by the time your sister walks into the kitchen, the oven dings.

When you run up to your sister—Kaeliah, to welcome her home, Lynn greets her as well. It was only the two of you in this home, along with your mom and dad. Kaeliah's always been a second big sister to her. Even when Lynn left her own home to escape all of her older siblings, she would still have one here.

You and Kaeliah were not polar opposites at all, in fact, you two were near the same. She was like a grown-up version of you. Compared to the Loud family that managed to birth all eleven opposing siblings, not one the same.

The night ends with the three of you watching a Disney movie that just came out. Kaeliah bid an early goodbye to catch some sleep after her five-hour drive from uni.

It leaves you and Lynn alone on the couch, under the blankets.

"Sleepy?" Lynn mumbles softly. You two were an hour and a half into the movie and your head was starting to tip over from resisting the urge to sleep. She tried moving closer so you would lay your head on her shoulder but you resisted.

"Mmh," you mumbled with your mouth under the covers and nothing but your eyes and the top of your head peeking through.

Lynn chuckles, "You still wanna finish the movie or you wanna go upstairs so we can rest?"

She watches as your eyes droop down to shut. You let out a sigh before abruptly getting up from the coach, startling Lynn. You stood there like a statue in the dark, nothing but the TV's screen lighting up the living room.

You reach a hand out to her on the couch, "Let's sleep." you yawn into your mouth.

Lynn accepts your hand and gets up from the couch. The two of you pick up the plates on the living room table that were now empty of the previous banana bread it had. The banana bread was slightly overcooked and maybe a little crunchy, but it still tasted good.
