And I'm kissing you lying in my room
Holding you until you fall asleep
And it's just as good as I knew it would be
Stay with me, I don't want you to leave

The air is silent. The crickets are falling at the empty sound. She doesn't even know how to start or finish words anymore. "You..what?" She trails off, still finding it hard to believe that those words left his mouth.

"I love you." He punctuates each word as if spelling it out to a kid. She finally hears it. Finally hears the words she's the words she's been desperate to hear for almost all of her life.

He is all of her life, and if she somehow came to stop loving Michael; it would be in death. Even then, death will not do them part. Nothing will pull them apart after those dangerous words were uttered from his mouth.

She doesn't know what to do or what to say. She knows she loves loves him too. She knows she does. She should say the words. Her legs are shaking, and her arms are shivering despite the warmth. She does not speak the words she's holding off on uttering.

"Hm, I love you too." She says them. She can't even believe she even said them, but it's instantly worth it when she sees the pure joy brandished across Michael's face. How could she ever love anyone else?

As if he wasn't expecting it, the boy is celebrating. He calms down. He wants to talk. He just wants to to her. He wants to hear her voice echoing through the air. He just wants everything surrounding him to be about her.

The girl his life was made for. Nothing, and nobody will ever be able to convince him that he was wrong for her because he wasn't. If he was, then the universe would unfortunately have to get over it because he has no plans of ever going anywhere else.

Only him, always only him. Nobody else deserves the things he does, and nobody in this entire world ever will. Hell, she'll burn this shit to the ground if it tries to stop her from being with him.

So many thoughts spiralling through her head as she led him back to her room. "It's late." The sun's been going down faster than she remembers it. Maybe the season's changing, or maybe she's changing.

Changing fast enough to make sure he's still warm in winter. "Yeah, I know." He mumbles out. He's like the boy he once was — nervous but eternally grateful for the kind of life he's starting to have.

Her hands twisting the door with the other on his. He laces his fingers with hers as his heart races at an unreasonably quick space. He doesn't understand how any of this is happening because of one word he finally got the confidence to utter.

'I love you.' Those words were more dangerous than he would have thought. He didn't expect to be lying in her bed, staring at the smile on her face.

They talked. They just talked about anything and everything. "You know, I'm starting to love the colour blue." He looks at her almost dumbfounded but happy. "Yeah, me too." A moment they never exactly expected to happen.

Lying in bed, his head on her chest, the sounds of her breaths, all of it feels odd. But it's a feeling he wouldn't exchange for anything else in the world. A feeling that she's so obsessed with.

Knowing he's hers again. Knowing that they're not fighting or screaming. They actually have each other. Nobody else is screaming at them. A soft kiss on her lips as her mind moves into dreamland.

Kissing her until she falls asleep.
