Please be a dream.

Please be a dream.

Please Xipe, let this be a dream.

His hands grip the bathroom rug as tightly as possible, turning his knuckles white.

His breath comes in short gasps, and heart beats strong in his throat.

Stop.

Stop it.

Stop panicking.

Everything is fine.

Caelus wouldn't try to force him to come out or force him to let him in....

Right?

Wait.

He asked if he was okay.

He needs to answer him.

He tries his best to keep his fear out of his voice as he answers.

"I'm fine." He responds.

Oh dear, that didn't sound convincing in the slightest.

"Oh. Well, if you say so. March, Firefly, and I are going to go over to the little store up a few streets to get food and snacks. Miss Himeko went to go do something as well, so you'll be alone for about an hour. Will you be okay?" Caelus asks through the door.

This time, he has to try to keep the relief out of his voice.

"Yes! Yes, I'll be fine! Being alone is the one thing I'm good at!" He exclaims quickly.

He hears Caelus give a little laugh from the other side of the door.

"Alright Sasuke. But if you're lying I'll be upset." Caelus answers.

He hears Caelus leave and his heart starts to slow down a little.

Somehow the stars aligned for him again.

His oddly sharp hearing catches the sound of the door slamming shut downstairs.

Once he gets through his head that he's alone, that he's alive, he starts to calm down.

In fact, now that he's alone, he could even go get the long sleeved shirt from his suitcase.

Maybe it would be better if he just kept most of his skin covered this entire trip.

It is cold enough for sleeves, after all.

He sticks his arms in his shirt in case someone had decided to stay back last minute and returns to the room.

He locks the door and hastily puts on his dark green long sleeved shirt.

There.

Now even if the scales don't go away, no one will see.

Finally.

He's safe once more.

March 7th

As the trio walk uphill to the grocery store, March finally snaps.

Not out of anger though, mind you.

"Man, he didn't even offer to come with us!" She exclaims.

"I sympathize with you fully, March, but is that really unexpected?" Firefly asks.

"Actually, that's why I dragged the two of you with me." Caelus says.

"I thought you just wanted us to help carry the bags home." March says.
