Is it polished and professional? Does it capture interest and relate to the book's contents? Is it eye-catching, and is the lettering legible?
Title
Is it unique and creative? Is it memorable and relevant to the story?
Blurb
Does it have an interesting logline that captures interest? Does it give a sense of the characters and plot while still keeping it concise and relevant?
Characters
Do they act and talk like real people? Do each of the characters have their own unique personality traits and their own voice?
Narrative Pace/Plot
Does it have a unique or interesting plot with a clear storyline in place? Do events follow each other logically? Do events feel too rushed or too dragged out? Is the information presented at an appropriate speed?
Setting/Description
Are descriptions it easy to visualize? Does the story ramble too much on unimportant details? Does the author succeed in world building without relying on info-dumping?
Prose/Technical
Does the story have appealing narration, proper sentence structure, and good syntax? Is the overall voice appropriate according to the genre of the book and the mood you're trying to convey? Spelling, punctuation, and overall grammar.
