Placing my cards out on the table, his eyes scanned them; a 2,3,4,5 and 10 clubs, a single 10 heart and a 10 spade.
Hissing his teeth, he tossed his cards down, a smirk playing on my face. "Hate playing with yo' bitch ass" he leaned back in his seat as I gathered the cards, a laugh leaving my lips.
"Nah, you just shitty at everything.. Your shuffle" I slid the card deck over to him once I had them all neatly together.
"How you feeling about tomorrow? Finally getting out of here.." he spoke, my eyes focused on his hands as he shuffled the cards.
"How am I supposed to feel? Glad as hell. Tired of this shitty ass place" I respond, the slight relief audible in my voice as we both laughed.
A group of inmates passing by where we were seated in the rec room, my eyes followed them until they sat by where the tv was, one in particular staring directly at me.
"Getting the fuck out of Illinois as soon as I'm outta here too.." I tell him as he dealt the cards, my attention going back to the game we were playing.
"I'd go somewhere exotic. Bahamas or Saint Lucia.. shit, I might even go to Tahiti. As long as I'm as far from the U.S as possible" he tells me.
"Yo, Capone.. CO Nunez wanna talk to you.."
Being pulled from starting our game as one of friends approached us delivering the message, Capone hissed his teeth but placed his cards down on the table ensuring to put dem face down.
"I'll be back. Don't try sneaking a glance at my cards nigga" he said to me in a playful light and I only laugh as he walked off, following behind his friend.
