It had been an odd few hours. First going to the Stark Tower where you were followed by Captain America and two other business looking men. They lead you to a room on the 12th floor that was occupied by a man with curly brown hair, who you found out was Dr. Bruce Banner.

"Hi," he offered you a small shy greeting while looking you up and down before glancing over to Cap. "She's the one?"

Cap only offered a small nod before the other two men left the room and the door locked behind them. The door closing sent a slight panic through your body even though you knew they meant well, there was something extremely uncomfortable about being locked into a room with two men you had only met a few hours ago.

"What even happened? You couldn't just send her to the hospital?" Bruce said looking at Captain America. "No offence," he added after seeing my slightly offended expression.

"No. She..." he trailed off looking you up and down unsure of what to say. "There was an explosive device at our feet and as we went for cover... something stopped it from detonating and somehow got rid of all of the Hydra agents in a 15 mile radius." Your eyes widened at his retelling of the story. You had only known about the device not going off.

"What? How is that possible?" You asked as Bruce guided you to a chair where you sat down looking between them both.

"You tell me." The Captain said while crossing his arms. "You were the one who did it."

What?

"What?" My words echoed my thoughts.

"Your fingertips, they changed colour as soon as I touched you and we ducked. That was when..." The Captain trailed off again. You glanced down at your fingertips noticing that they had finally returned to their normal tone.

"When what?" Bruce asked the question you were to scared ask.

The captain took Bruce by the arm and led him to a corner of the room and whispered something to him. Bruce's eyes widened and then his eyebrows furrowed looking at you, then. flicking towards your fingers. You instinctively shoved them into your hoodies pockets.

"Stop." The word came out unexpectedly. Their whispering was making you more nervous. "Whatever you are talking about I deserve to know, especially if it's about me."

They both stopped and looked at you. Cap looked to Bruce briefly before coming back over to stand near your side.

"Your fingers when they turned black, something appeared near us. I didn't get a good look at it, I thought it was a... shadow." His eyebrows furrowed again as he described what he saw. "How long have you been able to do it?" He asked finally.

"You think the... shadow was me?" You asked cautiously.

"You have no idea what we're talking about do you?" Bruce said slightly pushing Caps pressuring stance away. You simply shook your head. Bruce turned to cap. "Just let me do a blood test and then let her rest."

"Okay." He said slightly defeated.

Bruce took your blood surprisingly gentle and you thanked him.

"I'll try and get this done as soon as possible." Bruce said to me but I knew he was talking to the Cap.

After Bruce got to work the Captain took you to an elevator near by.

"Where are we going now?" You asked slowly trying to take in all of the expensive design choices that no one but Tony Stark would've approved.

"Steve!" A voice called from down the hall, I turned as Cap did too, to see a woman rushing towards him. "Tony wants to talk to you right now. Meeting room 2." The poor lady was out of breath.

"Can it wait?" Cap asked, but even I knew what that answer was going to be. "Alright," Cap looked at you oddly for a moment.

"What's your name?" It hadn't occurred to either of you that you actually didn't know one another names.

"Y/N," you said softly.

"Steve," he said offering a small smile. A beat passed before he realised the flustered lady was still standing there. "Take the elevator to the 70th floor. I'll let someone know you're coming up so that they can show you to a room." He gave a small smile once more while following the lady down the hall.

You glanced at the elevator and it sound arrived at your floor, you stepped in and looked at the giant keypad for what floors there were. You noticed the top 10 all seemed to be locked. You quickly traced your finger up until you pressed the '70' key and it lit up in blue. You stepped to the back of the elevator watching the floors get higher and higher until they reached floor 45 and stopped.

You slightly panicked. You hadn't thought about having to share an elevator with anyone. You kept your head down, still standing at the back of the small box, as the doors opened and made a faint ding sound to announce its arrival at the floor.

You didn't want to look up but you could hear someone's footsteps as they entered the elevator. Another faint ding of the person pressing a floor button sounded. You were being stupid hiding in an elevator, so you slowly raised your head to continue watching the floors climb higher.

Curiosity got the better of you and you glanced to the tall figure in the opposite corner. You froze, and your breath hitched slightly in your throat as you saw a man clad in black. That wasn't what caught you off guard, it was the metal hand that was poking out of his long sleeved shirt. You briefly remember seeing on the news stories of the Winter Soldier.

You turned your head more to confirm that it was in fact the winter solider and sure enough, his long hair was by his shoulders and his hard set stare confirmed all your thoughts.

"One of Peters friends?" It took you a moment to realise that he had caught you staring. You quickly faced the doors and glanced that you were passing floor 60, at least you could end your embarrassment soon.

"Huh?" you questioned.

"Are you one of Peters' friends?" He seemed unsure this time when he asked. His voice deep and no louder than it needed to be.

"Oh.. uh no." You responded confused, turning to face him. His face flashed with confusion mirroring yours, but he continued to stand straight looking at the doors. You offered a small smile in hopes to lighten the awkward conversation that was slowly unfolding.

"Quit staring then." He said blandly.

Your smile dropped and you faced the elevator doors cursing yourself internally. You could feel your cheeks burning at being called out by the Winter Soldier. The doors dinged. You looked up, floor 70, finally.
