I stood in the room, looking at all the books on the shelves and at how clean it was. A woman walked in and stood by the couch.

"Hello." She smiled looking at me, I turned my head and took in her clean appearance as if she's never stepped foot in the world outside of the walls.

I nodded at her as she gestured for me to sit down, I looked at the chair then back at her before sitting down.

"I'm Deanna Monroe." She introduced herself, "Grace." I nodded back at her as I glanced around the room.

"Just Grace no last name?" She questioned as she walked around the couch and stood in front of me by a camera. I shook my head, "It doesn't matter anymore."

"Do you mind if I film this?" She questioned with a smile, "Okay." I whispered with a nod as she clicked play on the camera.

"How long have you been out there?" She asked as she sat down on the couch in front of me, "Since the beginning." I stated.

"How did you all find each other? Did you know each other before or-" I cut her off and ran my hands through my dirty hair.

"I didn't know anyone before them, I met them a year after everything happened." I explained my posture still rigid.

"I was a congressperson, Ohio, 15th district." She spoke up, "What were you before all of this?" She asked looking at me with her hands folded in her lap.

"Does it matter?" I scoffed fiddling with my knife in my hands, flicking it between my fingers. "It does to me." She nodded.

"I was in college." I spoke glancing up at her, "Useless now though." I shrugged looking down at my hands.

"What were you studying?" She asked me as she leaned forward with curiosity, "I had this lifelong dream of being a social worker, to help kids." I spoke.

"Why? I mean why did you want to be one?" She looked at me with curiosity, "What is this place? Have you even left the walls?" I changed the subject.

"We have people that do that." She stated with a nod, "Judith, is she yours?" She questioned, knowing she watched me walk through the gate with her in my arms.

"No, no she's not mine. She's Rick's daughter." I stated sitting back and spreading my legs as I crossed my arms over my chest.

"Are we done here?" I questioned standing from my seat, "Just one more question, please?" She stopped me and gestured for me to sit back down.

I sighed and sat back in the chair, leaning forward and resting my elbows on my knees. "Why'd you join Rick's group? You stated you met them when they were already together. So why join them."

"I didn't at first, I left, but I came back and now they're family." I said looking at the floor, "Are we done now?" I questioned, she nodded and stood up as I did.

"It was nice meeting you Grace." She held out her hand and I looked down at it before walking past her and out of the house.

I watched as everyone put their guns in the bin, Daryl was next and set our crossbows on it before looking back at me.

I rolled my eyes and took my rifled setting it down along with gun strapped to my thigh and the one in my waistband.

I looked up at Deanna to see her smiling at me, I rolled my eyes and stood beside Daryl snd Noah. I crossed my arms over my chest as I saw Carol put on an innocent act and clumsily put her rifle in the bin.

She smiled sweetly at them before turning and meeting Rick's gaze her smile dropping.

_______

I stood under the hot water and watched as the sweat, dirt, and blood wash off of my skin. I sighed and scrubbed the shampoo into my scalp, my fingers trailing into the knots.

I washed my body and shaved before exiting, wrapping my towel around my body. "All yours." I spoke walking from the bathroom to see Daryl standing beside the door.

"M' good." He shook his head as his eyes watched me walk to my the bin that had clean clothes in it, I grabbed out a long-sleeved grey shirt and a pair of brown cargo jeans.

"You should shower, you stink." I smiled at him before leaving the room and going to the bedroom.

I slipped on the clean clothes and laced my boots up, I went to the mirror and grabbed the brush from the dresser and combed through my hair.

My hair was long, it went all the way to the middle of my butt. I brushed my fingers through it and sighed looking at my now clean figure.

I went downstairs and was met with Rick, "You clean up nice." I laughed looking at his freshly shaved face and his hair cut a little shorter.

"You look good." He complimented me with a smile as he offered for me to hold Judith. I took her in my arms and went to sit on the porch next to Daryl.

"You seriously ain't gonna shower?" I questioned looking at his still dirty figure, as I held a blabbering Judith in my arms.

"Nah." He shook his head and glanced at me, I stood up with Judith, "You better or me and Carol will hose you down." I pointed at him with a smirk.

He let out a grunt and shook his head, I swear I saw a small smile though.
