3: Protective

I receive a call from Sam to come over his place. He still lives with his parents; they are the sweets people you ever meet. I knock the door twice. His mother opens the door. "oh, my dear lucas, how are you? are you holding fine?"

"Yes, I am thanks"

"Come in, you know this is your house too"

I pass and walk to the living room, I look my phone to see the time, already anxious about picking up Kloe. Sam walks towards me.

"Hey men guess what?" he says happy

"What?"

"I got you a date"

"What? why?" I said confused 

"well, it's been long, and I think getting yourself out there is a good thing"

"yes, but Sam, I don't want to"

"Come on man, is lily, remember her, from school"

"Who? Lily from HeadStart?"

"yes, that one, she is kind of cross-eyed but she's a cutie, if you don't look at her straight in The eye"

"Sam that's cruel"

"Sam leave lucas alone, he's a man that takes his time to heal, not like you" his mother comes in with a plate full of snacks

"See, your mother gets me"

"Shut up" he says mad. "Anyway, coming for today's gathering?"

"I don't know, I have things to do"

"What things, this is your free day, come on"

"Fine Sam, I will be there"

I passed the rest of that afternoon with Sam just talking about random things, well he did most of the talking. Then I left fast to pick up Kloe. I wonder if she'll come with me to the gathering. it will be weird first since she's linda twin sister, but well manage. I just want to be with her. she runs to the car, she looks tired.

"hi, uhg!, I'm starving, want to pick up some food?" she asks

"yes" at this point I'll do anything she asks. "How was your day?"

"Horrible, again this Stalker came to my work, I almost got a write up because of him"

"Who?" My heart filled with rage out of nowhere

"Just a random guy, once I forgive him a coffee and now, he thinks I like him, I'm thinking Chinese, what you think?"

"I love Chinese"

"Are you just agreeing with everything I say?"

"No, I just like Chinese"

We order and wait in the car for the food, she was leaning back in the car seat, I just watch her with the corner of my eye. looking on how she took deep breaths, and her chest went up and down, how she crushed her fingers and bite her insides of her lips.

"Lucas just say it" she says with her eyes closed

"what?"

"I can feel you are anxious about something so just ask"

If you just know what I'm thinking you probably run away, i thought to myself. "there's a gathering of some friends of mine and they want me to come"

"then go, what's stopping you?" now she opens her eyes to look at me

"I want you to come with me, I'll be good, my friends are same as me or weirder"

"no thanks"

"Come on, from what I see, you are same as me, you don't go out much"
