It was a chilly December morning. Armaan and Abhira were busy getting ready for their firm. Armaan had a trial today. He was unusually early this morning. And Abhira too had a trial, so she followed his match.
Abhira was worried about Armaan. Cause his behaviour was edgy these days. And she knew perfectly well what was bothering him. It was Vidya's silence. Vidya has given both of them a cold shoulder since last week. Abhira digested this fact but Armaan couldn't. His insecurities peaked. Abhira was so sure that it's just a matter of time, once Vidya forgot about... Well technically there's nothing to be forgiven. This is the very first time that Abhira was confident enough to say that they both have done nothing to deserve all this. But then again it's family. It's her family. She loved them from the bottom of her heart. She can NEVER, never be cross with them.
Well as some great person already said,
When you are not fed love from a silver spoon, you will eventually learn to lick it off from a knife..
It was the case with both of them. They cared too much. They valued too much. They feared losing their only family. They didn't even realise that their love, their efforts meant nothing for the person standing at the other end. Armaan had always walked on eggshells around them. He was always scared that someday he might do something foolish and they will stop loving him, stop caring for him. Especially his mother. Vidya had never discriminated between her sons. At least not in front of them. She had always treated Armaan as her own kid, sometimes even more than that. Armaan got so used to her affection that her silence was eating him from inside. He was restless. He couldn't sleep at night, nor could he focus on his work.
They both came downstairs and had their breakfast in complete silence. Then both were about to leave when Aryan said,
"Please mujhe drop krdo n.. Apke firm ke raste mai hi hai mera college."
Armaan and Abhira began to look at each other tensely. It was clearly neither the right time nor the right conditions to defy Dadisa. Even though they knew they had done nothing wrong, they were still afraid.
"Aryan, beta hume sach mai der ho rahi hai. Rohit bhayya drop kr denge tumhe." Armaan said apologetically and both of them were about to leave clearly not wanting to have this conversation.
"But bhayaa, come on kitne din ho gaye hum log sath nahi gaye. Chalte hai n sath mai.." Charu complained.
"Haan bhayya..." Came the background chorus.
Abhira glanced at Dadisa who looked unhappy.
"Guys, please samjho. Hum fir kabhi chalenge. Aaj rehne dete hai n.. Aaj hum dono ki trials hai." Abhira pleaded.
"Okay fine. Jayiye aap log. But kal pakka." Aryan said.
"Haan.. aaj tum sab Rohit bhayya ke sath chale jao.. hm?" Aryan said.
And both of them started to leave when once again they stopped dead in their track when they heard Rohit.
"Mai kisika naukar nahi hu.. Mujhe bhi kam hai, aur mujhe bi office ke liye nikalna hai. Jab responsibility sambhali nahi jati to Lena hi kyu." Rohit grumbled, loud enough to reach their ears. And saying this Rohit stormed off.
Armaan looked back with defeated eyes.
"Aajao.. mai chod deta hu tum logo ko." He said in an emotionless way.
The ride was the most silent one the chorus gang ever had. But they didn't complain. Their motto was to cheer both of them, but the plan backfired.
After that all of them went to their respective ways.
