Okay so for a little break story after story of my own tales I've decided to be lazy and just hit you with some common Folklore about VoidView, specifically in this case about it's founders: now I can't promise how true all this is but I can promise that this is the most commonly accepted version of events. A long long time ago, when VoidView was nothing but a small indigenous community, 2 strangers arrived, both seemingly equally out of time and reality, Judas was an average enough looking African American guy but upon his arrival he is described to have been wearing what can be compared to a novelty axolotl onesie. Marshall on the other hand, was no man at all, though he took the shape of one, he was a living pile of slimy sludge dressed in a faded white dress shirt and brown pants held up by matching suspenders.

The 2 of them became fast friends, and worked hard for decades to take that community to a bustling village that lived in harmony and peace for a very long time, until the 'war time' a time in which a small civil war broke out between VoidView (at the time called 'Towntun') and a place called 'The settlement of cats and mice' (although the people of that place are extinct, many descendants of their close relatives are still kicking today! Pretty sure Sparkplug is in that gene pool.) anyway around this time Judas stopped being depicted with his onesie, instead trading it for a bearskin coat and Marshall starts being depicted wearing a dried turtle shell for a helmet.

It was during this time that their friendship fell apart leading to the first Towntun mayoral election, it's said that Judas won by a single vote, driving Marshall out of the city, his rule could be best described as tyrannical and unjust

It was during this time that their friendship fell apart leading to the first Towntun mayoral election, it's said that Judas won by a single vote, driving Marshall out of the city, his rule could be best described as tyrannical and unjust. Around that period was the 'Uprising of the Daves' 'Dave' being a term for someone living in squaller and poverty in Towntun (Originating from a one David Cupid Hazmet, leader of the uprising) the uprising was a 4 year period where a mob of Daves terrorized those better off and those in power, because of this every year in VoidView on December 3rd we celebrate Dave day to honor those who died. Not long after the uprising Marshall came back to town with an army of oddballs and freaks (this attracted the remaining Daves to join his cause) to overthrow Judas and take back Towntun. He failed and Judas shot him in the mouth and he was hung.

About 6 months later a small business owner named Ipcis Guhan went missing on the same night that Marshall's grave was robbed of his corpse and Judas began having horrible luck (Many say that he was cursed but I don't particularly buy that) and into town came an entry called many names, but the one that I was raised with was "3 tooth" (due to the 3 teeth exposed by the rot around it's mouth) I was a walking goopy black cadaver that spent a day wandering the town doing good deeds for the less fortunate and eventually breaking into the town hall and killing Judas. That's all of the actual story but to fill pages I'm gonna lost some popular theories: time travel theory: this theory suggests that rather than being ahead of their time Judas and Marshall were instead just from a different time, many believe that they are yet to be born and will be the test flyers for the first Time Machine.

Gods theory: (another about their origins) suggests that Judas and Marshall are Gods sent to create VoidView as some kind of holy land, and that it's complete abnormality is because of it's purity and divinity. And our final theory is Resurrection theory: This theory suggests that 3 tooth was Marshall's body on a revenge mission revived by Ipcis using necromancy (this is supported by whispers of dark magic artifacts being found in Ipcis' house and 3 tooth's help handed out to groups Marshall showed support to) many people sight the rot around its mouth to match the exact spot that was blown off when Marshall was shot but I don't personally believe that as I imagine his teeth wouldn't survive that shot. But anyway, like anywhere VoidView is greatly effected by itself folk lore, not only the founders' tale but many of the other stories too, a lot of mobsters pray to an ancient god of mischief Cracklord (I can't imagine WHY he's a dickhead) and it's customary for poor folk to thank 3 tooth when they run into good fortune. When I was a kid my cousin and his family were big believers in 'Critters' these endangered pale creatures of all shapes and sizes that explain mundane occurrences, like intrusive thoughts are explained away by Whisper woods, a subspecies of critter that, you guessed it, whispers bad ideas to you.

One of my old favorites is the one they had to explain the screams in the woods at night, Tree Screamers! (The exclamation is part of the names I learned that the hard way) they're just big orange trees with eyes that scream. Anywho I'm done parroting wives tales, I'm gonna go back to enjoying my anniversary, vacation calls.
