The days blurred into each other. Sonic couldn't even tell how long he had been in Shadow's grip. The confinement was suffocating, each attempt to escape met with Shadow's unrelenting force. Yet, it wasn't the physical restraints that wore him down—it was Shadow's words, the slow and steady erosion of his spirit.
"You're wasting your energy," Shadow said, voice calm but edged with dominance as he watched Sonic pace the room, clearly searching for a way out. "They're not coming for you. How many days have passed already?"
Sonic paused, glaring at him. "You don't know that. My friends are out there. Tails, Knuckles—they'll find me."
A humorless chuckle escaped Shadow. "Are you so sure? What if they think you've run off? After all, you've always been unpredictable. Maybe they've given up."
Sonic clenched his fists, refusing to believe it, but Shadow's words crept under his skin. Every day he spent here was a day his friends weren't with him. He hadn't heard anything—no sounds from the outside, no footsteps in the distance. Just silence, except for Shadow's low, controlling voice.
"I haven't given up," Sonic said, though his voice wavered slightly.
Shadow stepped closer, his presence overwhelming. "Maybe you haven't. But you're weakening, Sonic. It's only a matter of time." His words were a whisper, but they carried the weight of certainty. He reached out, brushing his hand against Sonic's quills, a gesture meant to unsettle more than soothe.
Sonic jerked away. "Don't touch me."
Shadow's eyes narrowed. "I'll touch you whenever I want, Sonic. You're mine." The finality in his tone sent a chill through Sonic's body.
He wanted to fight back, to scream, but his energy was draining—physically and mentally. Sonic hated himself for even letting doubt seep in. What if they really weren't coming?
Shadow, sensing the shift in Sonic's demeanor, leaned closer, his voice softer but still predatory. "You can make this easier on yourself. Stop fighting. You'll see that being here... with me, it's inevitable."
Sonic snapped, lunging at Shadow, desperate to break free from the suffocating tension. But Shadow caught him easily, pinning him against the cold wall with barely any effort. Sonic thrashed, but Shadow's grip was firm.
"Still so defiant," Shadow murmured, his breath hot against Sonic's ear. "But for how long?"
Sonic struggled, but every movement only seemed to amuse Shadow more. His grip tightened as his face hovered closer. "No one's ever been able to push me like you do, Sonic. It's why I won't let you go."
Sonic's eyes flashed with anger. "You're twisted."
Shadow's lips curled into a dark smile. "Maybe. But I know what I want. And right now, what I want is you."
There was a long, tense silence between them, broken only by Sonic's labored breathing. Finally, Shadow released his hold, stepping back, but not before delivering one final, chilling statement: "You'll come around, Sonic. They all do."
Sonic collapsed onto the floor, feeling more trapped than ever. His mind was racing, but Shadow's words lingered in his thoughts like poison.
