After the chaotic but fun breakfast, Lina felt a newfound sense of belonging among Taehyung and the BTS members. The laughter and the playful banter from the morning had left her in high spirits. They cleaned up the kitchen and flopped onto the couches in the living room, their energy still buzzing.
“Alright, what’s next on the agenda?” Jin asked, lounging back and propping his feet up on the coffee table. “We can either watch a movie or do something a bit more exciting.”
“How about a cooking competition?” Taehyung suggested with a mischievous grin, his eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. “It could be Team Taehyung and Lina versus Team Jimin and Jin!”
“Oh, it’s on!” Jimin exclaimed, his competitive spirit igniting. “You two think you can take us down?”
“Definitely! Lina is a secret culinary genius!” Taehyung declared, winking at her.
Lina laughed, feeling a little flattered. “I wouldn’t say genius, but I can hold my own.”
“Then it’s settled!” Jin clapped his hands together. “Let’s put those cooking skills to the test. What should we make?”
“Pasta!” Taehyung suggested, raising his hand like a student in class. “Everyone loves pasta, and we can get creative with it!”
“Fine, but no one gets to use store-bought sauce,” Jin said with mock seriousness. “We’ll make everything from scratch!”
Lina felt a flutter of excitement. Cooking with friends, especially in a competitive spirit, sounded like the perfect way to spend the afternoon.
They gathered ingredients from the kitchen, creating a chaotic scene as everyone tried to get their hands on flour, tomatoes, and spices. Taehyung, who insisted on taking charge of the sauces, poured a generous amount of olive oil into a pan and began chopping garlic with exaggerated flair.
“Watch and learn, my friends!” Taehyung announced, tossing garlic pieces into the sizzling pan as if he were performing on stage.
“Just don’t set anything on fire this time!” Jimin shouted, laughing as he grabbed a cutting board.
“Please, I’ve learned from my mistakes!” Taehyung replied, rolling his eyes dramatically.
Lina and Jimin worked together to prepare the pasta dough, mixing flour and eggs. As they kneaded the dough, their shoulders brushed against each other, sending little sparks through Lina’s body. She couldn’t help but smile as Jimin leaned closer to read the recipe.
“Are you sure you know what you’re doing?” he teased, his eyes twinkling with mischief.
“I think I can manage,” Lina shot back playfully, but she couldn’t suppress a giggle. “It’s just pasta, right?”
“Just pasta? Oh, you have no idea how serious this competition is!” Jimin replied, feigning shock. “Taehyung will probably make a grand announcement about our culinary skills!”
While they worked on the dough, Taehyung and Jin were engaged in a lively discussion about the perfect sauce, which led to lighthearted banter and friendly insults.
“Jin, you should really try adding more herbs! It’ll make all the difference!” Taehyung insisted, waving his hands as he explained his philosophy on flavor.
“Herbs? This is about sauce, not a garden!” Jin replied, crossing his arms and pretending to be offended.
As the cooking progressed, the tension between the teams grew. They were all determined to outdo one another. Lina could feel the competitive energy buzzing around the room.
Once the pasta was rolled out and cut into shapes, it was time to start cooking. Taehyung and Jin worked tirelessly on their sauce, while Lina and Jimin focused on boiling the pasta to perfection.
“Okay, let’s make this interesting,” Jimin said suddenly, his voice lowering as he leaned closer to Lina. “How about we make a little bet?”
“Bet? What do you have in mind?” Lina asked, intrigued.
“If we win, you have to go on a karaoke date with me,” Jimin said, his eyes twinkling. “But if you lose, you have to sing in front of everyone at the next BTS practice.”
Lina’s heart raced at the thought. “Karaoke date? That sounds like fun! But do you really think we’ll lose?”
“I’m just being realistic. Taehyung is… well, Taehyung,” Jimin replied, smirking. “But I believe in us!”
“Okay, deal! Let’s show them what we’ve got!” Lina agreed, feeling a rush of excitement.
With renewed determination, they continued to cook, the aroma of garlic and herbs wafting through the air.
“Guys, time’s up!” Jin called out dramatically.
“Already? We haven’t even tasted it yet!” Taehyung protested, his eyes wide.
“I can’t wait any longer. Let’s dig in!” Jimin suggested, a mischievous smile spreading across his face.
They plated their dishes and gathered around the table, each team presenting their creation with flair.
“Behold, the masterpiece of Team Taehyung and Lina!” Taehyung proclaimed, lifting his plate high.
“And the culinary genius of Team Jimin and Jin!” Jimin countered, puffing out his chest.
As they took their first bites, silence fell over the group. Everyone chewed thoughtfully, and Lina could feel the tension in the air.
After a moment, Jin broke the silence. “This is actually really good,” he admitted reluctantly.
“Yours isn’t bad either,” Taehyung conceded, glancing at Jimin.
Lina felt a surge of confidence. “I think we might actually win this!”
They all began to chatter about flavors and preferences, discussing which sauce they liked better and why. Finally, Taehyung turned to the group with a serious expression. “Okay, it’s time for the verdict.”
With laughter and anticipation, they each voted for their favorite dish. The room was filled with a mix of excitement and competitive spirit.
After tallies and a few dramatic recounts, it was announced that Lina and Jimin had won the competition.
“Victory!” Jimin shouted, pumping his fist in the air, his eyes sparkling with delight.
Lina couldn’t contain her excitement as Jimin’s enthusiasm washed over her. She turned to him with a wide grin. “Looks like it’s karaoke night for us!”
Jimin smirked, his gaze lingering on her. “I’m looking forward to it. Let’s make it a night to remember!”
As the day wrapped up and the sun began to set, Lina couldn’t help but feel that the unexpected bet had turned into something special—a promise of fun and perhaps a budding connection that was just beginning to blossom.
