"Are you nervous for the date?" Alaia asks Franco, as they walk along the paddock together. It's a Sunday, and it's mere hours before the feature race. Ollie's run off somewhere with a PREMA engineer, leaving the two of them alone.
Franco shakes his head, running his fingers through his hair. "Not really. I've been on dates before. Just the first one where I've been, you know... set up with someone."
"You know, if you don't want to do this, you should tell me. I don't want to force this onto you," she says.
"No, no - I just..." he says, and he pauses mid-sentence. He looks at her, and she's looking at him with those warm, brown, inviting eyes that Franco finds himself inexplicably attracted to. But then he remembers - right, she doesn't do relationships. He wants to spend more time with her, really - but this may be the only way. Ollie's only brought her here for one reason.
"No, I do want to do it." he says. Truthfully, Livia was pretty - but Franco's just way too enamoured by the girl standing beside him, and his head tells him that he really shouldn't catch feelings for her, knowing how she stands on relationships, but his heart tells him to just go for it.
"Okay," she replies, looking at him with an unsure expression on her face. "Tell me if you ever change your mind, and we'll call it a day on this whole thing, yeah? Sometimes things aren't meant to be forced."
"Yeah," he nods. "I will."
"It's just been a while since I've talked to anyone, so... yeah. A bit weird." he says, and Alaia nods.
"I get that. But Livi's nice, so hopefully she makes you feel comfortable and you guys have some stuff to talk about. She's really tight with her family as well, and Ollie told me you like horses - Livi loves them."
