I freeze, just as Bobby comes back with a nurse. "What's wrong?" The nurse says and she rushes over to the other side of the bed to check the charts. "I think she might have taken some kind of drug" i look at the little girl on the bed. " That's impossible we'd would have caught it by now" the nurse rolls her eyes "check again sometime's-"
the nurse walks towards the door interrupting me "ma'am let us do our jobs and we'll let you do yours" the nurse says as the starts walking out but Bobby grabs her by the arm.
"It's possible that there's something in her blood you haven't found yet" Bobby says as his hand tightened on the nurse "Check again" Bobby and the nurse stared at each other for a couple seconds.
"Please, if something were to happen to her-" I stand up and go stand next to Bobby "it would be all on you" the nurse looks between us before letting out and sigh. "Fine but if there's nothing there I'm going to report both of you" the nurse glares at us before pulling her arm away from Bobby and walking off.
"Thank you" I turn to Bobby. "The least I could do instead of just stand there" rubbing his neck Bobby looks back at Emily. "Yeah but most people would have just stood there" I say as i turn back to Emily. "Emily, sweetheart did you get the medicine out of a orange bottle?" She looks up at me with red eyes full of tears "no, it w-was on the table in the l-living room"
I look at Bobby then clear my throat. "Okay sweetie, I'm going to go I have to talk to someone very important okay" I smile at her little face and stand up "Bobby is gonna stay here with you okay" I look towards Bobby and he nods his head at me "will you be back?" Emily says as she looks at Bobby for a sec before turning her head to me. "Of course" I then turn out of the room and pull my phone out of my back pocket.
It's ringing as I look in the room and see Bobby talking to Emily, she looks a little afraid and keeps glancing towards me and back to him.
"Hello?" I jolted a little before answering back. "Yes, Amanda? Hi this is Evelyn I was wondering if you could do me a favor"
