I scream to the sky
the sky screams at me

Shay knelt down on the soft, grassy ground. Her long, dark red hair formed a curtain around her head and sunlight melted into her soft, brown eyes. She pulled on a pair of gloves. "I'll plant a bunch of your favourite flowers here. Hopefully they'll make your new home a little nicer." She planted the seeds and glanced at the young man standing next to her. Bodhi nodded and knelt down too. He places his palms over the earth. His palms glowed. And new, wonderful life rose in the form of shining flowers. Shay's eyes were dry. "I hope you like them. Goodbye, Nova", she whispered. She got to her feet and linked arms with Bodhi. They joined Chrissy outside the graveyard gates.
"We can build a home here." Nova's eyes melted into the night sky. Shay looked up, up, up. She imagined the canopy formed by emerald leaves was something protective and magical. Nova had hung up a series of old Christmas lights over the branches. "I shall love it here", Shay decided. "In that case this place shall be our home forever." Nova beamed.
"How are you feeling?" For once Chrissy's eyes were drained of mirth and her voice was awfully solemn. "I'll be alright. I hope they'll catch the son of a bitch you drove over Nova", Shay replied grimly. "I'm sure they will." Chrissy caught a cherry blossom floating in the wind. It rested on her palm. She stared at it, mesmerised by the soft, rosy petals. "Chris? Alright, mate?" Chrissy took a while to register her friend's voice. "What? Yeah." She dropped the delicate blossom. It took a few moments to reach the ground. Chrissy stepped over it and caught up with her friends.
Daphne blinked snowflakes off her lashes. She looked back at her footsteps imprinted on a thin layer of snow. They resembled the walk of a ghost. Daphne smiled as Blair caught up to her. She took his hand into hers. She's a dream girl, Blair thought. How long could he hold her before she vanished? He tried hard but his smile turned sad. He was glad Daphne couldn't see it.
"Echeveria Bloom'', Bodhi said proudly. "I got it from Mystery Shore." The lovely, red flowers wove into the shape of a heart and Shay couldn't help but smile. "It's beautiful. Thanks, darling." Bodhi beamed. "She needs attention to stay alive, though. Talk to her. Maybe sing." Shay raised an eyebrow. "Her?"
"Yeah, I got real female vibes from her." Shay chuckled and kissed his cheek. "Well, she's very lovely. Did you name her?"
"I thought you could."
"Hm. I think I like the name Echeveria. It sounds magical."
Shay cuts her hair, watches the red strands disappear down the drain. She flushes down a part of her grief, smiles with tears in her brown eyes. She was just a passenger in her life and she swore like Nova, one day she wouldn't be coming back home after she had left it. The door flings open and her sister stands behind it. "It's a bit uneven", she says bluntly. "Fuck off", Shay says. Hope rolled her eyes and left the room. It's such a sibling thing to barge in a room you know your sibling is for no good reason.
Bodhi slid into the office. "You wanted to see me, Mrs. Pines?"
"Please sit down, Mr. Blóm."
Bodhi obeyed and sat down in front of the headmistress's desk. "Tell me, did you have anything to do with what happened in the dining room during breakfast?" Bodhi shook his head. "I do not take part in such foolish endeavours as pranks, Mrs. Pines."
"I really wish you'd be honest with me, Mr. Blóm."
"I am!"
"I happen to have an eyewitness. She saw you." Bodhi looked around himself at these words. "Sorry, mate, it was so easy throwing you under the bus." Florence grinned. "You orchestrated the whole thing", Bodhi said defensively.
