Lucas watched Marissa and Florence enter the post office. A strange smile played on his lips as sunlight played in Marissa's hair just before she vanished inside. Something small barrelled into him and all the air was momentarily knocked out of him. "Oh no, I'm sorry, mister", a child apologised. His eyes were violently purple and his hair fell in tangled locks on his narrow shoulders. "I'm very sorry", he repeated. He averted Lucas's gaze. Lucas pasted a polite smile on his face. "It's alright, child. You mustn't apologise anymore." And the child ran away. There was a real smile on Lucas's lips. "Found you", he whispered.

"Noah, put some music on, will you? To make the time go faster." Charles gestured to Noah and then a radio in the corner. "The clock ticking making you insane?" Noah grinned and Charles grumbled something incomprehensible. Noah walked to the radio and turned it on. Samuel tensed up. Sammy... Sammy... Sammy... He looked around himself wildly. "Mom?" he whispered. I'm right here... "Where?" Samuel's heart felt heavy. "Right here." But Samuel couldn't see anyone. The music coming from the radio was haunting. "What a weak mind", Noah muttered. "Went crazy faster than anyone before him."

"My mind isn't weak", Samuel snarled and got a crazy idea. He seized a sword from the wall and pointed it at Noah. "Now give me what I came for." Noah smiled. This unnerved Samuel. "Very well", he said. "You have bested me", he admitted rather dramatically. "It's behind the counter." He went to retrieve it. His smile was truly unnerving. He picked up a knife from underneath the counter. The next moment the blade had blood on it and Samuel had no idea what was going on. He brought a hand to his chest. It came out bloody. Then the pain came. It wafted over, suffocating him. His head spun. There was blood on Noah's hands as well. He was still grinning as he watched Samuel collapse.

"Samuel, sweetheart, you must wake up. It's not your time yet."

Samuel opened his eyes. They welled up with tears as the ache in his heart returned. "Mom?" Samuel had never been this cold. Everything around him had a bluish glow to it. He could only see graves bathed in fog through his tears all around him. He longed to hug her but seeing her there seemed like too good to be true. "You need to come with me", his mother said. "I'll guide you back to the human world." She made no effort to help Samuel up so he scrambled up by himself. "What is this place?" he asked, picking up his glasses and putting them on. His head was spinning again and a horrible pain lanced through it. He was pretty sure he would throw up but managed to steel himself. "The space. It's rather overwhelming", Ella said. "Especially for you."

"Especially for me?" Samuel asked. "You are able to see into the future."

After hearing these words Samuel got confirmation for a few very unsettling theories he had formed of himself. Shit. "Can you...?" Ella seemed to guess his thoughts. She shook her head. "The ability comes from your dad's side."

"But Cassidy's a fraud."

"Not Cassidy, dear. Amanda."

Amanda had a headache again. This time she saw a young woman with wonderful, red curls streaming down her back. Her eyes were pitch black. Another woman came into view. She was choking, her feet a few inches above the floor. A clock was ticking somewhere. Blood trickled down the redhead's nose. Her hand was raised and someone was screaming. For Amanda it took a while to realise the scream was her own. The next moment her mother was holding and shushing her. "I'm here, tesoro. You'll be alright", she kept whispering over and over again.
