diverting attention away from something

( G!P ZIGGY BERMAN X FEMALE READER )

Y/N's POV:
(mhm once again not proofread)

It was Color War day. A day I probably hated the most when it came to camp. Sunnyside won every year, so it wasn't the competition I was worried about. It's more of who I was worried about.

Ziggy motherfucking Berman.

Shadyside's supposed trouble maker, according to my older brother, Nick. I was warned to never go near her and I did as told, not completely caring as well. That was until one rebellious night where I snuck out of my cabin to watch the stars and ran across Ziggy who got into some trouble and ran across me when she was escaping.

She's charming and cocky. Arrogant but sweet.

We weren't friends but we didn't exactly hate each other either. We had our playful banter moments but Sheila hated when I talked to her and Nick had this crush on her so he didn't like it either.

I was walking around the grounds, trying to avoid being dragged into Color War. A strange noise coming from one of the cabins attracted my attention. I stopped in front of the door, pushing it open to hear vulgar music blasting as loud as it could and the ginger girl I had mentioned earlier painting her walls.

"Wow, Ziggy Berman, I didn't take you to be artistic." I teased as the girl dropped her paintbrush on the floor when she saw me. I kicked the door shut, placing my hands behind my hands behind my back.

"Shut up." Ziggy scoffed, holding back a smile as she hopped down from her ladder.

"Woah. Those are some vulgar words." I muttered out as Ziggy shut her music off. "Sheila?"

"Yep." Ziggy gave me a tight lipped smile. "It's whatever. What's up? I would never in a million years think that Y/N Goode would be here in my cabin."

"Now you shut up." I shoved her shoulder, hearing her chuckle as I sat on her bed. "I'm a little bored. And trying to avoid Color War. I'm hoping my brother doesn't find me."

Ziggy sat beside me, crossing her arms over her chest. "Me too. I could use the company." Her charming smile flashed its way over to me. "So, if you don't mind, you may watch me continue painting."

"Ha ha. Amusing." I joked with a roll of my eyes. Ziggy did a playful bow before picking up the paint brush, stomping her way up the ladder again. I watched her carefully, a few things I never noticed before coming to my attention now.

The veins on her hands and forearms popped out with each delicate stroke she took and her perfect side profile of her face was shown when her hair was flipped to the side over her shoulder. There were things about Ziggy Berman I never noticed.

But now I sure did.

It took her around an hour to finish the painting, covering up the words that Sheila and her gang of rats wrote down. I was bored as fuck as I lie on her bed, watching Color War happen outside the window. I was hoping for a good distraction from everything.

"Hey." Ziggy dusted her hands, plopping down across from me. "I'm all done."

"About time." I sat up with a grunt. "I'm so bored."
