Sophie

"Oh my God!" Katie and Christina exclaimed, bouncing excitedly when they noticed the positive pregnancy test on the counter. We were getting ready for my wedding, and I couldn't keep this secret hidden any longer.

"This is just like the last time when you found out you were pregnant with Rory!" Christina grinned, and Katie nodded.

"Except this time, you two are getting married, and everyone's happy!" Katie added, and I chuckled softly, rolling my eyes. I didn't remember that day, but Katie and Christina had told me all about how Patrick found out about my relationship with Ashton, and everything went downhill from there.

Thankfully, everything was great now, and everyone was happy—but for some reason, I was scared.

Ashton had so much going on with the Blackhawks, helping me raise Rory, and dealing with my memory loss. I wasn't sure how he'd handle another baby. What if it was all too much for him, and he left? My heart pounded as I spiraled with worry.

"What's wrong, Soph?" Katie asked, noticing my silence. I shrugged, glancing down at the test.

"I'm just overthinking, as usual," I admitted, and she gave me a soft smile, sitting next to me and grabbing my hand.

"Are you not happy about this pregnancy?" She asked gently and I quickly shook my head.

"No! I am happy, I'm just... scared," I sighed, and she squeezed my hand. "I don't know how Ashton will react, especially with the playoffs coming up, and we barely have a one-year-old. I don't want to overwhelm him."

"Soph, I'll tell you right now: that man out there will be so thrilled to find out you're having another baby that his heart might literally burst." Katie chuckled. I took a deep breath, letting her words sink in.

I knew she was right. Ashton loved me more than anything, and I loved him just as much. I had no reason to worry. We could handle whatever life threw at us.

"Are you ladies almost ready?" My Mom asked as she walked into the room, her smile wide. I nodded, quickly slipping the pregnancy test into the pocket of my dress and grinned back at her.

"I just need help with the veil. Will you help me, Mom?" I asked, standing up and grabbing it off the counter.

"Of course, sweetheart." She stood in front of me, and I sat back down so she could place it on my head. She pinned it carefully, then draped the veil in front of my face. "Oh, Sophia," My Mother breathed, tears welling in her eyes as she helped me stand. "You are the most beautiful bride."

"Thanks, Mom." I grinned at her, blinking back my own tears as I squeezed her hands. "I love you so much."

"I love you too, baby girl. I know your dad is here with us today, and I know he'd be so unbelievably happy that you're marrying Ashton." She gave me a final squeeze before linking her arm through mine.

"I know he would. He loved Ashton almost as much as he loved Patrick. I wish he could've been here more than anything." I sighed, and my Mom nodded in agreement.

"Me too, Sophie. Are you ready to get married?" She asked, and I took a shaky breath, nodding as a slow smile spread across my face.

When the doors to the church opened, all my worries disappeared the moment my eyes met Ashton's. His smile was the biggest I'd ever seen, and I could tell he was trying not to cry. "That boy is absolutely in love with you, Sophie." My Mom whispered as we marched down the aisle and I giggled, blushing at her words.
