                         Ki'niya pov

As Aniyah and Azalea’s friendship blossomed, I couldn’t help but feel like a proud mom. They were clearly into each other, but they were just dancing around it.

“Y’all need to hurry up and figure this out! It’s cute and all, but I can’t handle the tension!” I teased them during lunch, and they both just rolled their eyes.

“Chill, Ki’niya! We’re just friends!” Aniyah said, but I could see the blush creeping up her cheeks.

“Right, just friends. Keep telling yourself that!” I laughed, and they both shot me daggers.

When the bell rang, I decided to head to the courtyard with my friends. As we walked, I couldn’t help but check my phone for any new TikTok dances to do with my gc.

“Yo, let’s film something quick!” I said, and everyone jumped on board.

We gathered around, busting out the latest moves, and suddenly it felt like summer. Everyone was laughing, and the vibe was just right.

“Okay, we need to post this on TikTok tonight” I said, excited about the potential views.

As we wrapped up, I couldn’t shake the feeling that change was in the air. Something big was happening, not just with me and my peoples, but with Aniyah and Azalea too.

After school, I met up with Azalea at the corner store, my favorite spot to grab snacks. The place was popping, filled with all my friends from Simon Gratz. As we walked in, I spotted Zayshawn and Jamaica by the chips aisle, already making fun of each other.

“Look at these dickheads, tripping over chips,” I chuckled, nudging Azalea.

“Right? They act like they’ve never seen a snack before,” she replied, rolling her eyes.

I grabbed a bag of Hot Cheetos and a soda, while Azalea loaded up on her favorite gummies. As we checked out, the poppi store person sees us everda so ofc he greets us, “What’s good, ladies?”

“Chillin’! Just grabbing the essentials,” I said, flashing a smile.

As we stepped outside, I noticed the sun setting, casting a golden glow on everything. “You wanna film a TikTok here?” I asked, feeling free and easy in the moment

“Let’s do it!, Which dance?” Azalea asked, excitement lighting up her eyes.

We set up our phones and started doing the bumba dance, the laughter and energy contagious. The crowd that had gathered around us cheered, and I felt like we were stars for a moment.
