I run my finger across my ring repeatedly.
I try to relax and keep my hands still.
"You're alright." Shizune tells me.
I shake my head.
"I think I'm gonna be sick." I say."It's too quiet." I say and start bouncing my leg.
"Isn't it good she's not yelling?" Shizune asks.
After another few minutes the door opens.
I watch as all the people file out.
Kurenai comes over to where I'm sitting.
"It's in consideration." She tells me and frowns.
"That's alright. Thanks." I tell her.
She catches up with Asuma.
Shizune excuses her self and goes back into the office and shuts the door.
I walk down the steps slowly.
So what if they don't want me on the team.
Or at least that's what I'm trying to tell myself.
"Akari." I hear softly.
I turn and see a familiar face.
"I wanted to let you know that I'm on your side. I think you would be a great addition." Inoichi says.
I just nod at him.
I walk back to the apartment in a slump. The fact that they are still considering it is worrisome.
Just a no would've been sufficient.
I walk past some food stalls and see Naruto with his arms folded tight on his chest.
"Uhh? No. Well?" He murmurs to himself.
I fish around in my pockets and find some change.
I rattle it in my hand to get his attention.
"Here." I say holding it out.
He opens his frog wallet and dumps the coins into it.
"Thanks now I can get two portions!" He says counting the money.
I wave bye and keep walking.
I thought I saw... well probably not.
I reach the edge of town and see a shadow of someone waiting in the ally way.
"Hello?" I call out.
The shadow doesn't budge.
I walk slowly forward.
I swallow dryly. There's probably nothing there.
Right?
I now see the edge of someone's foot.
My heart doubles in beats.
I try to call out again by my nerves are making it difficult.
"H-hello?" I say trying to sound strong.
"Akari." I hear low and rumbling in my ears.
As I finally get to see the shadow everything does dark.
