A/N: guys, season three was wild. the tone was crazy, the subject was crazy, and it was just so emotional and so beautiful. episode 4 literally deserves an emmy. my only problem was the pacing, which was very weird, and it was really hard to tell how much time had passed. however, i know that was the timeline of the books so it's hard to stray from that for the show. joe's acting has improved so much, and so has yasmin's and kit's for sure. like i was heartbroken in a way i've never been heartbroken before.
Favorite episodes were definitely 1, 4, and 8, but I loved all of them. Honestly i'm still processing it. It still doesn't feel real.
sorry, I could go on about this for hours, lol.
here's what i think will happen after season 3, and this time i have absolutely no idea because the book isn't even out, haha

Charlie slowly opened his eyes, the yellow sunlight from Nick's window beaming in his eyes and lighting the entire room in pale streaks. It must have been late morning or even early afternoon, because the Sun was shining almost directly through the window, covering every inch of the room. For the first time in a long time, Charlie felt completely rested and full of energy. The tiredness that usually hung in his eyes seemed to be gone, and the nightmares that haunted him during the night had disappeared under Nick's protection.
He hadn't slept this well since that last night in Paris.
Charlie tried to remain still, as Nick was still fast asleep, his heartbeat steady under Charlie's hand. Nick's face and chest were basking in the sunlight, and along with the faint smile dancing on his lips, he looked almost ethereal.
Absentmindedly stroking Nick's cheek, Charlie reflected on the events of the previous night.
Their bare bodies pressed together under the covers, swollen lips, hickies...
Nick's mouth literally everywhere. His own mouth everywhere.
Charlie squirmed in excitement just thinking about it.
Unfortunately, his involuntary movement woke up Nick, who yawned and fluttered open his eyes. When their gazes met, Nick smiled.
"Hi," he said.
"Hi. Sorry for waking you up."
"I'm happy you did." Nick pulled Charlie in for a hug, stroking his shoulder with his thumb and nuzzling into his neck. "I love you," he said.
"I love you too," Charlie replied. "What time is it?"
"9:00."
Charlie groaned, pulling the blankets back over him and Nick and cuddling further into his side. "I don't want to leave you. Ever."
"Me neither." After a pause, he whispered, "Charlie, that was literally the best night of my life."
Charlie blushed. "It was the best night of my life, too. Are you sure you don't regret it, or wish you would've waited longer, or—"
"Charlie," Nick stopped him with a knowing smile, grabbing his hands and pulling him on top of him so they could look right at each other. "I don't regret a single thing, except waiting this long. Now if you regret it, you have to tell me right now—"
"Nick! I don't regret it at all. It was... really good. And you were really great, and really hot—"
"Not as hot as you."
"Shut up! I'm speaking!" Nick closed his mouth tight, hiding his smile. "I should've never been worried in the first place; about what you would think, of course. I should've trusted you more."
"Charlie, you had the right to be nervous. I was so nervous, I didn't know what I was doing, or what to say, or—"
"Nick... you—you did it really good." They both giggled at that, Charlie blushing awkwardly.
"You did it really good, too," Nick said.
Charlie cowered into Nick's shoulder. "You're so cringe!" he said.
"I think you're also pretty cringe too," he said. Then he added, "Why are we like this?"
"I don't know!" Charlie said, drawing out the 'know.'
"Do you want to play Mario Kart?" Nick asked.
Charlie rolled off of Nick and grabbed his Nintendo Switch. "Of course."

For the entire morning, Charlie could not stop smiling. He and Nick continued to talk and play videos games until the late afternoon, when Charlie had to get home to prepare for a family dinner. He even ate his entire lunch and was proud to say he hardly thought about the 'consequences' at all.
At the door, Charlie—dressed in Nick's clothes—gave his boyfriend a last hug and passionate kiss.
"Do you want to come over to mine tomorrow?" Charlie asked, arms still wrapped around Nick's neck.
"Yeah," Nick said with a grin, kissing his cheek.
"We probably can't do anything, but—"
"Char."
He swallowed. "Yeah?"
Nick grabbed his hands. "Please don't feel you owe me sex all the time. I will still love every minute hanging out with you, whatever we do or don't do."
"Oh... okay."
"That doesn't mean I didn't love it!" Nick backtracked, worry spreading over his face.
Charlie laughed. "Nick, I know what you meant. If we're both up for it, and we have an empty house, then we can."
"Yeah. And if you're feeling insecure, or either of us are having a rough day, we can just forget about it and—" Nick thought for a second. "Have fun in other ways. That's not sex. Even though sex was really fun."
Charlie blushed. "Okay, cool." He let go of Nick's hands and gave him one more hug.
"I love you," Nick said against his shoulder.
"I love you too," Charlie said.
He removed himself from Nick's embrace, opened the door, then stepped outside. They both waved goodbye, and Charlie began his journey home.
He couldn't stop skipping.
