Ominis- History Of Magic, January 14th
"Today, we will learn about the foundation of Godric Gryffindor's sword... created in the tenth century by goblins... appears to a Gryffindor in need..."
Reality was fading out as my subconscious attempted to take control. This bloody class and its professor were the perfect combination to put any student to sleep... well, except for Amit Thakkar. That boy was a Ravenclaw prodigy.
Ariel's snores rang strongly in my ear. Not too long after the lecture began, Ariel's head slowly sank down to my shoulder, and the sounds of sleep began shortly after. I didn't bother to wake her up, cause frankly, I was not too far behind her.
My head slowly sank into my hand and I let exhaustion win me over.
My eyes opened, and I suddenly heard the sound of the gate to the Undercroft creak.
But how I did I end up here?
Slap.
"You toad-licking bastard! Stop cheating!" Anne's third-year voice rang, as I walked into the Undercroft.
"Bloody hell, Anne, you got me in the nose!" Sebastian's voice cracked, as does one of a thirteen-year-old boy beginning his journey of puberty.
This day already happened. So, this must still be a dream.
But why does it feel so real?
"Good! Hopefully, it's broken!"
"You are such a bi-!"
CRASH
Anne chucked a nearby vase at Sebastian, clearly missing, hitting the pillar behind him.
The only sound that echoed in the room were my footsteps creaking towards them, announcing my arrival.
"Ominis, I-I'm sorry, I lost my temper-"
"There's no need to apologize, I'm sure it was well-deserved."
The music of her laughter filled the room.
"You both are pricks," Sebastian said, walking towards the exit, "I've got crossed wands in an hour, I'll see you both later." With that, the jealous boy stomped out of the Undercroft, believing he was gobstones champion. But knowing Anne, she will have her revenge.
I turned back towards her after Sebastian left the room.
"You know, it's very unbecoming of a lady to be so hostile" I said with a smirk.
"Oh, piss off, Gaunt," she gave me a light shove as she walked by, causing me to smile, "will I see you later?'
"Later?"
"The Ravenclaw's are throwing a victory party in their common room. Samantha invited us."
"I don't know-"
"Come on, Omi. It'll be fun. Besides, Samantha's been asking me about you all day. She's dying for you to come."
Samantha Dale, the girl who couldn't take a hint.
"Well now I'm even less inclined to go."
"Please?" she whined.
"Fine," I answered, causing her to squeal, "but on one condition."
"Of course!"
"You can't leave me alone at the party. Samantha will follow me around all night if I'm left alone."
