Anne Sallow - First Day of 5th Year

I fell to the floor of my Feldcroft home as a sudden burst of pain engulfed my entire abdomen. The sharp, stinging sensation swallowed my  very essence and almost made it impossible to breathe. I was helpless... weak.

Uncle Solomon overheard the commotion of my wallowing in agony and came running inside from the garden. Picking me up, he placed me on my small bed to ride this wave of misery. He was not an empathetic man... but he tried his best.

He rubbed my back until the pain subsided, not saying a word the entire time. After he fetched me a glass of water and made sure everything was ok for the moment, he headed back outside into the garden.

He is not an emotional man. He is not there for me like Sebastian is. Like Ominis is.

"Expelliarmus!"

"Protego, Stupefy!"

I watched as the boys went about a friendly duel, getting the opportunity to practice with each other before heading back to school. I dreaded the days passing so quickly, leading up to me being alone again.

The duel went on for what felt like an eternity.

My brother was an aggressive, yet swift duelist. He's always had keen sense for it. He even gained himself a reputation as 'Hogwarts Best Duelist.' Skilled upperclassmen have yet to render him defeated.

He fought as if he wanted to make his opponent feel small. Slowly chipping away their confidence and hopes of winning against him. He was unpredictable, cunning, confident, but being his twin sister, I always knew he had a trick up his sleeve. Sadly for his opponents, they did not.

Ominis on the other hand, moved with grace and elegance in his duels. Though the handsome boy-

The what? Why did that pop into my head?

Though the boy couldn't see, he had a sense. It caused him to react quickly, making him a tricky target.

His movements were fluid, like a stream gently moving. It was almost as if he wanted his opponent to know that they were not good enough to use his energy on.

The movement of his hands were just as mesmerizing as the rest of him. His wand moved like an extension of his arm. In a way, his wand has always been apart of him. He always said it was one of the missing pieces of his soul.

I wonder what other pieces it's missing?

Ominis dodged Sebastian's basic cast, and hit him square in the shoulder with his own. Sebastian winced, and I could tell he was upset. And that made me smile.

I gave a clap and a cheer in Ominis' direction, and the boy turned his head over his shoulder at me, and winked with a smirk following it.

Oh Merlin.

At that moment I was thankful the boy couldn't see, so he couldn't witness the blush overtaking my cheeks.

Sadly for me, Sebastian noticed.

"What's wrong, Anne?" That obnoxious prick began. "Why do you look so red in the face? Is it too hot outside for you?"
