CHAPTER 1

Both Jungkook and Y/n staring into each other's eyes..Y/n trying to find the answers for her question while Jungkook battling from his inner thoughts before saying...

"I am ending this...I can't do this anymore Y/n..I am sorry " his voice trembled as he handed the ring back to her, as a promise to never leave her no matter what happens.

"Jungkook, please" she pleaded, her voice breaking. "You can't just walk away like this. We can work through it."

He shook his head, his expression distant and torn. "You don't understand. I'm losing myself, Y/N. I can't keep pretending everything is okay when it's not. I care about you too much to drag you down with me."

Each word pierced her heart, deepening the wound he had just created. She stepped forward, reaching for him, but he took a step back, his eyes filled with pain. "Don't. Just... don't."

He was about to go when Y/n held him and back hugged him "Jungkook, please don't do this," she whispered, feeling the tears spill down her cheeks. " I love you so much Jungkook..please tell me what mistake did I do? I will make it up for us...but just don't leave me with this silence.."

He turned back at her before giving attaching his lips to her...making all his pain reflect to her as his kisses her...she responds to the kiss..it was a slow, kiss filled with the pain of letting her go...as they broke the kiss, Jungkook attaches his forehead onto hers.." I love you too..and I always will..."

And with that, he turned away, walking into the rain that had begun to fall, leaving her standing there, shattered and alone. The droplets mingled with her tears, but they were nothing compared to the pile of emotions surging within her.

A WEEK LATER

Standing beneath the oak tree where they used to meet, she clutched her phone, staring at his last message—"I'm sorry." It haunted her, a reminder of the unanswered questions swirling in her mind.

The rain drizzled softly, mixing with the scent of damp earth, and she could almost hear his laughter again, but it was only an echo of what used to be. She closed her eyes, wishing desperately that he would come back, that he would tell her everything was a mistake.

"Hey..I see you are enjoying the weather under this tree..can I join?"

Y/N turned at the voice, startled to see Taehyung standing a few feet away, a gentle smile tugging at his lips. He held two cups of coffee, his presence a comforting balm against her aching heart.

" Here , this one you can have , I got it for Jungkook but for some reason he decided to ditch me..after making plan himself..huh bitch.." He said in an annoying yet a little funy tone..making Y/n's lips form a smile but at same time aching her heart..hearing his name.

Taehyung realised the discomfort of Y/n and apologised.."I am sorry, I forgot about the breakup thing...Are you okay?" he asks..making sure he didn't make it awkward.

"It's okay..I am fine" she lied, managing a small smile. Part of her still hoped Jungkook would show up, laughing, his eyes sparkling with mischief. That somehow, they could return to the way things were.

She accepted the cup, grateful for the warmth against the chill in her hands. "Thanks," she murmured, taking a sip. The bitter taste was a welcome distraction from the ache that had settled in her chest since Jungkook had disappeared from her life.

For a moment, neither of them spoke. Taehyung stood beside her, a fellow student and a really good friend of Jungkook navigating the same college halls as hers, and his presence felt oddly grounding.

"I don't get it," Y/N finally said, breaking the silence. Her voice trembled, and she hated how vulnerable she sounded. "How someone can just disappear from your life like that. Without a reason."

"Maybe he thought he was doing the right thing," he said carefully.

Y/N looked at him, searching his face for answers. "Right thing for who?"

"For you," Taehyung said quietly, his gaze dropping to the ground. "Maybe he thought you deserved better."

Her throat tightened, the words lodging in her chest.

"He could've told me that," she whispered, her voice cracking. She didn't want to cry, but the tears were already gathering, the weight of his silence too much to bear. "He could've at least given me a reason."

Taehyung shifted beside her, his hand brushing against her arm, offering a quiet comfort. "Maybe he couldn't."

Y/N didn't respond. Her mind was too full of memories, too full of the quiet moments she shared with Jungkook before everything started falling apart.

Y/N blinked away the memory, her fingers gripping the warm coffee cup a little tighter. Taehyung was still standing nearby, his presence a subtle reminder that she wasn't alone on this rainy campus. She knew him—he was in a few of her classes, and she had seen him around the college with Jungkook from time to time. But they weren't close. In fact, they had barely exchanged more than a few words before today.

"Thanks for the coffee," she muttered, her voice low as she looked at the cup in her hands. It felt strange, accepting kindness from someone she barely knew.

Taehyung shrugged, his posture casual as he glanced toward the empty path ahead. "I saw you standing here... figured it might help."

There was an awkward pause, the kind that lingered between two people who knew each other's faces but not much else. Y/N hadn't expected him to stick around. They weren't friends, after all. But Taehyung seemed unbothered by the silence, his calm presence both unsettling and oddly reassuring.

"You don't have to stay," Y/N finally said, her voice softer now, eyes cast downward. "I'm okay."

"Maybe," Taehyung replied, a slight frown creasing his forehead as he watched the rain fall. "But sometimes it's not about being okay. It's just about getting through it."

Y/N glanced at him, surprised by the depth of his words. He wasn't prying, wasn't trying to force a conversation out of her, and she appreciated that. Still, there was something about his calm demeanor that made her feel... noticed. Not in the suffocating way Jungkook had left her feeling, but in a quiet, unspoken acknowledgment of her pain.

They stood there in silence, neither of them saying much. Taehyung had always been more of an acquaintance—someone she passed by in the hallways or saw at campus events. They had shared polite nods and occasional group project discussions, but nothing more. And yet, in that moment, his quiet presence made her feel less alone.
