A/N: hey guys, I know I'm going a bit out of order but I promise it's just so certain moments can go with what. I'm just getting back and adding new chapters/moments so just bare with me. Enjoy this chapter!
Robin woke up with a smile, stretching in the warm sunlight filtering through his bedroom window. Life had been going his way lately. He was dating a beautiful woman, he loved his job, and his house was finally clean—no small feat in Storybrooke. There was a lightness to his step as he got dressed, thinking about the day ahead.
When he strolled into Granny's, the familiar scent of freshly brewed coffee and warm pastries greeted him. His eyes fell on Mary Margaret and Emma sitting at a corner table, deep in conversation. As he walked over, their heads lifted in unison.
"Hey, ladies," Robin greeted them cheerfully.
Emma looked up with a small smile. "Hey. Grabbing some coffee?"
"And a donut," Robin replied, glancing at the counter but noticing the serious expressions on their faces. He raised an eyebrow. "Why do I feel like I just interrupted an intense chat?"
Mary Margaret and Emma exchanged a quick look. Robin was trustworthy, and he had a level-headed perspective that could be useful right now. They seemed to come to a silent agreement before Emma spoke.
"Let's say we know this girl who likes this man," Emma began, leaning back in her chair.
Robin nodded, intrigued but also cautious. This sounded like one of those delicate conversations that might require tact.
"And she wants to be with him. They both do, but they can't," Mary Margaret added, stirring her coffee absentmindedly.
Robin frowned, tilting his head slightly. "Why can't they?"
"Because the man is in... an entanglement," Emma said, carefully choosing her words.
Robin's eyes darted between the two women as he tried to piece the situation together. "But the girl respects that, and she goes out of her way to see him—even if it's only for a couple of minutes," Mary Margaret explained softly.
Robin's understanding clicked into place. He knew Mary Margaret and David had history, and even though things had settled since David regained his memories, it was clear there were lingering feelings. Maybe more complicated than he had thought.
"Well," Robin said after a moment of consideration, "I think this girl should figure out what the man wants. And if what he wants doesn't align with her feelings, no matter how hard it is, she's going to have to let go."
Mary Margaret's face fell just slightly, the weight of his words landing heavily on her. She nodded, though it was clear it wasn't the answer she wanted to hear.
"Yeah," Mary Margaret agreed, though there was sadness in her voice. She took a sip of her coffee, staring into the cup as if it held the answers to her troubles.
Emma cleared her throat, trying to shift the mood slightly. "David did invite all of us to another party. Katherine's throwing it."
Robin blinked in surprise. He hadn't expected that. "Are you going?" he asked, watching Mary Margaret carefully.
Mary Margaret hesitated for a second before answering. "I feel like we should. We're still his friends."
Robin nodded slowly, understanding the complex web of relationships in Storybrooke better than most. Sometimes, friendships and romances blurred the lines, especially when old curses and lost memories were involved.
"Well, if you're going, I guess I'll see you there," Robin said with a gentle smile, standing up from the table. He grabbed his coffee and donut from the counter, giving the two women a small wave before heading out, leaving them to their thoughts.
