Stefan found Elena at the end of the day and started asking her why she had been so distant the past few days.

"I'm sorry, let's have a movie night." Elena asked being all cute and Stefan agreed but said they should do it in his house because her house creeps him out for some reason.

"There's always some stuff flying around, like your place is haunted or something!" Stefan whispered a bit scared and Elena chuckled because she knew that it was all Finn's play. And it was funny to see a big bad blood-holic vampire jumping at spooky shit!

They watched a movie and it was a fun night in. But Elena realized something, he looked so happy to be with her, and that felt so shitty of her. She had to break up with him and she had to find a way before she had to be sacrificed. It would hurt less you know...

It was a week later when Elijah was the one following and keeping an eye on Elena during her school hours when she and the witch and vampire, his spies told him she's hanging out with plus the witch's twin brother also a witch, sneak out of school during lunch hour and went to the Grill for lunch instead. He sat a few tables away from them and listened in, respectfully, Anna was whining about hers' and her twin's adoptive parents and homework and as Nathan and her twin, David, brought the food order the conversation changed to a birthday party. Elijah really tried to recall if he missed any birthdays, Elena's were in June, so it could be somebody else's birthday and they're planning the party. Which is kind of them, he guessed.

"So, what do you want to do?" Anna asked Elena who looked perplexed.

"I don't know...I always come up blank...I used to imagine like a laid back BBQ at my house and stuff but that's impossible." Elena said unsure as she added salt to her fries.

"Well, I would have LOVED not get dropped in the middle of the Aegean sea during my birthday!" David said a bit salty and annoyed and everyone chuckled.

"What about you Nathan, what is an unattainable birthday fantasy?" David asked Nathan interested and a bit amused.

"My country not being invaded at 4 am, that would have been nice...oh and the camps in Moscow!" Nathan mumbled annoyed and bitter as he sipped his coffee.

Elijah frowned at both David's and Nathan's queries.

"Well, since nobody asked, my birthday would have been awesome if we could have Goody's Salad bar back!" Anna exclaimed dreamily and everyone in the room closed their eyes and looked to actually fantasize about it.

Elijah was even more confused, who was Goody and really salad on one's birthday?

"What are you fantasizing about? You never had them!" Elena accused Nathan jokingly and Nathan looked mocked offended.

"You forget that I'm half your assess, Lena? Of course I had it! It was a summer staple! You didn't have a proper summer UNTIL you had takeout from Goody's and their macaroni salad after the beach or ON the beach!" Nathan sassed back and Elena looked surprised and raised her hands in surrender.

"Okay okay!"

"We can try to recreate the magnificent macaroni salad?!" Elena exclaimed and everyone exclaimed yes.
