The room was cloaked in darkness, the only light flickering from a single, dim bulb that cast grotesque shadows on the blood-stained walls. The metallic scent of blood mingled with the cold, damp air, making the atmosphere thick with fear. In the center of the room, a man sat trembling, drenched in sweat, his voice hoarse from screaming. His desperate pleas echoed through the sinister space, unanswered.
Suddenly, the heavy iron door creaked open, and two figures stepped inside. Their cold, unfeeling eyes scanned the room as their footsteps echoed off the stone floor. They approached the trembling man with slow, deliberate steps, their expressions void of mercy.
"Please, my king... I beg you... spare me," the man sobbed, his voice cracking. "I'll never betray you again... please..."
The broad-shouldered man let out a dark, mocking chuckle. He crouched down beside the prisoner, his eyes glinting in the faint light. "Mercy?" he repeated, the word dripping with disdain. "You think after betraying us, you can beg for your life and walk away?"
Without warning, he grabbed a nearby metal rod, its end still glowing faintly from the fire it had been pulled from earlier. The man's eyes widened in horror as the torturer held it close, the heat searing the air between them.
"Kings don't forgive betrayal," he said, his voice chillingly calm. "And neither do we."
Before the man could beg again, the broad-shouldered figure pressed the scorching metal rod against his flesh. The room is filled with the sound of sizzling skin and the man's agonized screams, piercing through the silence. He writhed in pain, trying to pull away, but the other man grabbed him by the shoulders, holding him still.
Tears streamed down the prisoner's face as the torture continued, the rod burning through his skin. The smell of charred flesh filled the room, making the scene all the more horrific.
"You wanted to betray us," the second figure, silent until now, finally spoke. His voice was low, almost a whisper, but his words were colder than the air around them. "Now, you'll understand the cost."
The broad-shouldered man yanked the rod away, only to bring it down again on the man's back. His screams grew weaker, his strength fading with each agonizing second.
The torturer smiled grimly. "This is only the beginning," he said, standing up, looming over the broken man. "The kings never let betrayal go unpunished. And you're not leaving here until you've paid the price in full."
With one final glance at the quivering, broken figure on the floor, they turned to leave, the flickering bulb casting their silhouettes in shadow as the door creaked shut behind them. The man's sobs faded into the cold darkness, his punishment far from over.
