❝Mama! Mama!❞

MACAQUE YELPED as he felt a sharp slap on his face. He was peacefully taking a nap under a tree when he was abruptly woken. He quickly sat up, believing that there was an enemy attack.

A giggle got his attention and when he look down, he saw you sitting on his lap with a happy grin. He groaned and ran his hand across his face, feeling his cheek sting from your slap.

Macaque: "Seriously, is that how you wake someone up?" He asked you with a raised eyebrow, earning him an adorable laugh from you.

Macaque had kept you with him for days now and he was kinda still not used to your presence with him. You were literally a baby and he wasn't that enlighten of how to take care of a child. Still, Macaque couldn't deny the fact that he felt some kind of connection between you two. It was odd to him.

"Mama!" You squealed with delight, reaching your little hands to grasp his red scarf. A sigh left Macaque's lips and he leaned back on the tree.

Macaque: "Yeah yeah. I'm awake now." He told you, ruffling your hair slightly.

"Mama." You cooed and nuzzled your face against his soft scarf to show your affection. Macaque's eyes softened at your friendly gesture. Those little things you do made him feel warm at heart which was something he hadn't experienced in a long while. However, there was a remaining thing that bothered him a lot. It was the fact that you were addressing him as mama. It wasn't bad that you saw him as a parental figure, but not mama! He would be fine if you called him papa, dada or even by his name, he didn't mind at all. Macaque just disliked the idea of you seeing him as a mother.

"Mama?"

Macaque snapped out of his thoughts when you called him out. Now this was a good opportunity to teach you to stop calling him mama. He sat up straight and held you more properly on his lap.

Macaque: "Alright, kiddo. It's time I teach you how to say my name." He cleared his throat while you looked at him with puzzlement, "Say Macaque." He slowly said his name to help you pronounce it.

You blinked a few times then tilted your head to the side, "Mama." You replied to him.

Macaque: "No, it's Macaque. Ma-ca-que."

"Mama."

Macaque: "No, Y/N. Call me Macaque, not mama. Macaque."
