•Ashton•

I sat up slowly feeling a dull throb in my head. My body seemed to ache all over. I opened my eyes, the light making my eyes burn and my head spin. The sound of a door opening caught my attention. The girl from last night walked out rubbing her long hair with a towel. She smiled as she looked up at me.

"Hm you're up early," she chuckled pulling her hair back into a pony tail. I nodded and rubbed my head. "How's that hangover?"

"I feel like hell," I grumbled as I stood up wobbling a bit. My head spun as I did so. She nodded and walked towards the cabinet and tossed a Tylenol bottle and water towards me.

"Might need that."

I nodded and took two of the small pills and threw them back washing them down with the cool water. She walked past me and pulled her shoes on.

"I have to do a few things today. So, you are welcome to join me which I suggest that you do because you need a friend right now and those idiots up stairs are one, passed out and two, they aren't going to be much help in your situation," She said standing up and looking at me expectantly. She had gotten a lot more confidence than she was last night.

I shook my head. She wasn't wrong about  Jax, Corban, and Shane. The only way they knew to fix their problems was through throwing a party and getting so drunk they couldn't remember the problem. I was growing sick of doing that. This was what hurt her and what drove her from me. I would never be good enough for her if I didn't stop acting like a damn teenager.

I walked towards the door following Eliza. She quickly put out her hand stopping me. I raised an eyebrow as she crossed her arms. "Look last night I was drunk and I ignored the fact you looked a mess because well you're hot. But uh yeah first step of me helping you out is you gotta put some cologne on and wash your face. Go," she pointed towards her bathroom.

"You're very demanding. You know that?" I asked her heading towards the tiny doorway.

"So I've heard," she shrugged.

I walked in and splashed the cold water on my face. It felt good against my burning eyes and dirty skin. I looked up into the mirror and realized she was right. I couldn't go out looking like this. I had to pull myself together. I walked out of the bathroom where she stood holding out men's cologne.

"Do you have a boyfriend?" I asked jokingly. She faintly smiled.

"I have a few guy friends. That's all," she responded as I spritzed it over me. "Now let's go."

As we opened the door she smiled to herself and slightly nodded, "I think today's a good day for a walk."

I sighed not really feeling up for a walk, but after our brief conversation in her flat  I knew arguing with her would be in vain. We walked down the stairs towards the sidewalk where the Sydney sun beat down on us.

"Why do you want to help me and how the hell do you know I need help?" I asked becoming curious as to why she suddenly decided to make me her project. She was an interesting person and I could tell by her attitude I'd probably get along with her. Although her know it all persona did piss me off.

She glanced at me before continuing looking at the tall buildings around her and replied, "I'm not blind. You're obviously heartbroken and filling the void with alcohol and well almost with me."

I grimaced. It sounded worse hearing it come from someone else. She glanced up with a smirk.

"What? I hit too close to home?"

I scoffed, "You know you're making it really hard for me to like you right now."

"I don't need you to like me. You need someone who's gonna tell it to you straight and help you get out of this mess. So tell me, how did you two happen?"
