The smell of cinnamon, citrus, and toast, the sound of birds the warm morning air, filling Nick's room as he gets out of bed, he gets dressed then heads out of his room. He looks towards his sisters room and walks towards the door. He reaches the door and knocks
Nick: hey! You awake yet?!
North: yeah come in!
Nick opens the door and steps inside, he looks around for his sister but she's nowhere to be found, he walks further in before hearing footsteps behind him, he turns around to see North running out of the room.
North: last one to breakfast is a rotten egg!
Nick: oh you son of a-
Nick runs after North as they both head downstairs. They reach the kitchen as one of the maids places a plate amongst 4 more on a table
Maid: good morning! Breakfast is orange juice, French toast, bacon and eggs
Nick: thankyou Lucy! It looks amazing, there's no way we could eat all this though, why don't you and the others join us?
Lucy: a kind offer, but you know we aren't allowed, I must head down to the maid court now, have a good morning children
Lucy walks out of the kitchen, leaving Nick and North to themselves, North sits down at the table and Nick follows after
Nick: you know we could probably make all the maids there own plates so they can have some?
North: if dad finds out then... I don't know what he'd do
Nick: yeah but your mum always convinces him not to go ape shit right?
North: fine, there's no guarantee he'll find out anyway

Nick: that's the spirit
They finish there food an start piling food onto plates to bring to the maids. They sneak out of the kitchen and down some stairs. They reach the maids quarters.
Nick: breakfast is served!
The maids all turn around, but one of them roll there eyes and turns back around.
Lucy(maid 1): oh, Nick you could get in trouble doing this...
Anne(maid 2): oh my, Thank-you Nick
Darla (maid 3): we get in trouble if we take food, don't you realise this?! I'm not taking your charity....
She turns back around, crossing her arms and ignoring the others who are eating happily, when they finish eating Nick and north creep back up the stairs. Nick turns around to speak to north, while still walking up the stairs.
Nick: see, no consequences, dad didn't find out.... You should listen to me more...
North: uh-Uhm
Nick turns back around to see his father, accompanied by his aunts and uncles. The man looks at Nick with a cold stare, sending shivers down his spine, his father nods outward towards the corridors, as the two children follow him to the meeting room. Everyone but north and Nick sit down. There father and norths mother sit at the head of the table.
Milo (father): Nicolas, north, you my children, have been taught better I'm sure, speaking to the maids, feeding them, making them feel higher than they deserve to be..... from Nicolas I expect something so stupid, but from you, north, my only child of full royal blood, I'd think you'd know better.....
North: I'm sorry father I-
An man amongst the people sitting speaks
Man: this is what you get milo, you had a child with a woman on non royal blood, your going to have offspring that's as stupid as a rock
Norths mother stands and speaks
Sarah: so what, the woman was from slumaí, this boy is an exceptional young man, he just doesn't realize his place yet.
Milo: he's had enough warning, bring in the maids!
The three maids all walk in, there heads bared down in shame. Four guards follow behind them.
Milo: North, stand with the maids.
Nick: dad she didn't do any-
Milo: stand. With. The. Others. North!
North nods and stands in line with the others, each guard stands in front of the girls
Milo: as you all know, the people of a water Aura can master the ability to take the blood out of people's body's, as well as some other fancy shit I dunno
Nick: dad, North didn't do anything, she shouldnt be punished for something I did
Milo: oh please, she is just as guilty! Guard number one, start the chain please.
Without any warning the first guard slowly raises his hand towards the first maid, with his hand in a fist he slowly opens it, the maid crying out in pain as blood pours out of her mouth. Nick watches in horror as the maid collapses to the ground. He looks at his step mother who's head is in her hands, she looks up as the second guard starts the same as the first.
North: dad! Darla didn't take any food! She shouldn't be punished!
Milo: I know, she has been informed she did nothing wrong, Darla, stand next to me and Sarah, I need you to see what you avoided by knowing your place.
The third made moves out from the line and stands next to Milo and his wife, she stand with a smirk, looking at North.
Nick: dad she barely had anything to do with it! I convinced her to do it! She told me not to!
The final guard slowly brings his arm up to North's chest, she start to hyperventilate as her eyes well in tears, her eyes dart around the room and meet Nick's.
North: n-nick
Nick: DAD! CUT IT OUT WE WON'T DO IT AGAIN
The guard opens his hand slower than the others, North heaves in pain, clenching her chest, kneeling to the ground, she looks up at Milo, then to her mother
Sarah: YOUR KILLING OUR DAUGHTER! STOP!
Milo stayed silent for a moment, North's nose starts to bleed as her breath starts to hitch, Milo stands up and clears his throat
Milo: enough....... She has learnt her lesson
The guard stops, his hand clenching again. North gulps in a breath of air and she clenched her hand to her chest, she wipes the blood from her nose and looks up to Nick. Without hesitation nick runs to North and kneels in front of her, looking over her tired face, checking that she's okay. He looks back at his father.
Nick: if that's what your willing to do to your favorite child I have no doubt I've got something worse right?
He exclaimed in an angry tone, death staring his father, Milo stands crosses his arms and looks at Darla. The smirk on darla's face weakens in fear, knowing Milo is a dangerous person she didn't want to seem cocky at the moment.
Milo: see that, that's what happens if you don't do as I say, or if you go against the rules, Nicolas, come with me...
