Milo walks out of the room and Nick follows, north watches as they leave, she quickly gets up and stumbles after them. They reach the elevator room, Milo pushes Nick into the elevator.
Milo: you will be taken down to the cannibal level, if you survive you can come back, let's hope you don't survive...
North runs/stumbles into the room and stands in the door of the elevator and stares her father down, leaning against the frame of the elevator.
North: i-if he goes I go, Look a-at me, I'm barely any use to you now, you might aswell just start over..... since you don't love either of your children...
Milo: you think I won't? You think your anything to me? Fine, go down with him, your right, I can always have another kid.
Milo pushes north into the elevator further, shutting the door infront of him. Watching as the elevator slowly goes down.
As they disappear Nick turns to north. She looks exhausted, her face looks pale, her eyes tired and her hands shaking.
Nick: why would you do that? You realised have to go through the cannibal level? You won't survive....
North: I'll be fine, I-I can handle myself
They rest while the lift slowly descends, the bell dings and Nick looks up to the screen. :2 minute until Tríú leibhéal: he shakes north awake.
Nick: hey, we need to get up and ready
North*groans awake*: ye-yeah, alright, I feel better I t-think
They stand up, Nick stretches and gets ready to run. North stands heavily, her body aching.
As the doors open they hear a low growl. Surrounding hisses, they see many pairs of red glowing eyes. Nick wastes no times before running out of the lift, dragging North behind him. The push through a crowd of hissing growling people, they then run through the rows of tents layed around. Scattering footsteps can be heard behind them, hisses and growls from the horde following them. They see the second lift, Nick sighs in relief. His hope doesn't last long before a cannibal launches themselves in-front of the two siblings.Nick pushes north behind him as he looks around for a weapon. As he realises he may be done for... *SMACK* the cannibal gets hit in the face by a wooden cane.
Old man: come on! Get your asses in the lift!
The two get in the lift, Nick helping north to the ground. The man runs into the lift and slams the door.
Nick: w-why were you down here?
North: a Better question is, can we trust you?
Old man: I was down here to collect cloth and clothes, and yes you can trust me.
North: what proof do we have that your trust worthy?
Old man: what proof do you need?
Nick: we don't, it's fine, I trust you
North: yeah well, I don't.....
The lift rises, North gets comfortable for another nap. Nick sits up and talks with the old man. They seem to bond over the tops side, the old man asking questions about life up there.
Old man: what's the good like? I've heard about different types of cheeses, different types of soups and breads! I really want to try olive bread, if it actually exists.....
Nick: yeah it's all real, olive bread and all.... I-im sure you'll try some soon.
Old man: yeah, don't know about that... I'm getting old, I won't be able to go on my little missions to the cannibal level soon.....
Nick: I heard that Tríú leibhéal I'd becoming more dangerous.... There's rumors that the people of that place are getting stronger... Smarter...... It's scary, but I guess we can't do anything about it
Old man: no offence but the top side is the reason for all that..... Ríoga does the most damage to our city's
Nick: Mhm, I'm not happy about it either....
Old man: maybe one day it'll fix its self, or maybe someone will do it for us... Dunno... You should get some rest... It's a few hours till we get back..
Nick: yeah alright, thank you by the way
Old man: it's in my nature to help, no problem
Nick lays his head on North's shoulder and drifts off to sleep. Him and North wake up at the sound of the old man's voice.
Old man: alright! Up and at'em were almost there...
Nick stands up and stretches. He holds his hand down for North to pull herself up. She stands, rubs her eyes and yawns.
North: where are we going once we get down there.....
Old man: you'll see..
The lift comes to a hault as the door opens. They all step out and start walking. The two siblings walking side by side behind the old man. The reach a shop with a red neon sparrow sign.
North: what's with the sign?
Old man: it's a sparrow...
North: I know what it is.... Why a sparrow?
Old man: uh uhm..... It means prosperity, and stuff
North: very descriptive.....
