Xiao pov
They were out with Zhongli, getting some things to prepare for this years upcoming Lantern Rite Festival. I had work to do, so I didn't come. And besides, there were a lot of people in the city.

I was back at the Inn before dark, but they weren't. I guessed they stopped for dinner before coming back to the Inn. I didn't feel jealous. I trusted Morax.

Asking Verr Goldet for some Almond Tofu, I sat on the railing of the balcony, eating as it slowly got dark. I thought about Y/n. The more I thought about them, the more I fell in love. And the more protective I became.

My mind started to wonder what was taking them so long. How much stuff did you need for a Lantern Rite Festival? It was one day! And I didn't give them that much Mora- I don't have any. And I know for a fact that Morax doesn't have any either. Was Childe with them? It would make sense...

Just thinking of Childes name made my stomach flip. He could harm them. Very easily.
What if a fight broke out?
What if they need my help?
What if Childe was more powerful than Morax, and Childe had taken them away somewhere?
What if they wanted to call me but couldn't?
What if-

What if- they're dead?

I fell to the floor of the balcony, the empty Almond Tofu container clutched to my chest. My head hurt.
The world started spinning.
My chest- my chest felt like a city was on top it- I couldn't breath.
My vision blurred. I started to cry.
Why weren't they home yet? Something happened. And it was my fault if they were dead.
The thought made my head spin more. I felt like I was going to vomit.

This happens a lot, believe it or not, but Y/n was always there to tell me what to do. Now, I didn't have a clue of how to calm myself down. I sobbed into the floor silently, repressing the sounds. I couldn't let anyone hear me being weak.
My eyes blurred heavier than ever. I couldn't see.

"Verr, hi!" I greeted her, a smile on my face. Her eyes looked at me with concern. "I heard a thump from upstairs. We don't have any guests in apart from Xiao, so he could've fallen." My brow folded in confusion.
An Adeptus falling?
"Alright, I'll go check it out."
"Oh and Y/n, where are your bags? Xiao told me you went shopping with that man from the Funeral Parlour."
"Childe offered to bring them back to Zhonglis home. I didn't have to carry anything, and I believe that's why Zhongli made him come."
I smiled at her, waving and saying goodnight. I hopped up to our shared bedroom happily, and knocked on the door before opening it.
"Hey Xia- Xiao? Baby, what are you doi-"
I gasped as I realized what was happening. Rushing to Xiao on the floor of the balcony, I wrapped my arms tightly around him. My hands soothingly untangled his gorgeous hair.
"It's ok, I'm here."
I whispered into his ear calmly. His arms wrapped around my waist, and he sobbed into my chest. "Follow my breathing, ok? Ready? In-"

I breathed in slowly, and felt him try as well, though he was shaking.
"And out" I let go of the breath, and he followed my lead.
"You're gonna be ok. I'm right here, baby. Everything's ok." I whispered calmly as he slowly stopped crying. He didn't lift his face from my chest however. "Xiao, look at me." He sniffled quietly, but didn't obey.
"Xiao, come on. Look at me."
I lifted his chin gently, making his gorgeous copper eyes stare into mine. The tears were still evident on his lashes, making them glitter in the soft moonlight. His cheeks were streaked with tears, and his eyelids were red and puffy.
"Oh, my poor baby. Why were you crying? What started the panic attack?"
His eyes slid away from mine.
"Alatus. What started the panic attack?"
When I said his real name, his eyes shot back to look at mine. "It's nothing, it's stupid. Sorry for ruining your night."
"No. No, Alatus, it's not nothing. Hey, look at me." I pulled him in and kissed his lips gently. He didn't kiss back, but I didn't care. Once I pulled away, I looked back into his eyes. "If you don't want to talk about it, that's ok, but know I am always here for you. Whatever you need. Without judgment." I hugged him close to me.

"Although the floor must not have been very comfortable." I swiftly lifted him up into my arms and carried him to the bed.

I laid him down on the bed gently, handling him as if he were made of the finest porcelain. Which, to me, he was. I crawled up to him, letting him wrap his arms around my waist again. I was the big spoon, letting him cuddle up to me.
"So, want to tell me what triggered the panic attack?" I asked calmly. He sniffled. "It's-"
"don't say it's nothing. It's obviously not nothing." He sighed.
"You. You were gone, and I didn't know when you'd be back, I thought something happened to you, but I didn't want to disturb you if something didn't happen and I was scared that you would be hurt or kidnapped by Childe or you'd fight him without my support or you'd-" he continued ranting on like this for a good five minutes, all the while me stroking his hair with my hand soothingly.
"Xiao, I will always call you if I need something, whether it would be if I can't find my wallet, to if a Hilichurl is about to end me. I will always call you." I said, and he looked me in the eyes.

"You will?"
"Yes. Always. Just as surely as I know that you will always answer." He smiled a soft smile, and I felt my heart warm. "I love your smile." I complimented absentmindedly, and a soft tint of red spread across his cute face.
"Archons, I love you." I breathed, kissing his lips again. This time he positively melted into my arms, giving quiet dry sobs against my lips. I pulled away and kissed his cheeks gently.

"Stay here with me, Y/n."
He kept repeating over and over under his breath, as he cuddled up to me.

"I'm not going anywhere, Xiao. I'm right here, and here I'll stay."
