A Day with the Senju

Birds chirping the nearby tree awakened Isabella to a sunny morning. The place still gives you unusual feeling of nausea, perhaps you are still coping with the new environment that you're in right now. You must admit, the bedroom surely gave you a relaxing ambiance, making you fell asleep a lot quicker since you were exhausted from the half day journey. Having not properly examined the room last night due to tired mind and body, you can say that the room screams exquisite taste of furniture, beddings, long-drapery curtains and even the combination of colors on the walls are extraordinary. I could use to sleeping in this room as long as I want, you thought. Enjoying the moment of relaxation, still lying in bed motionless, the door sprang open and Kira walked in, together with two other maids which you believe were sent by Tobirama and his brother to attend to your needs. "Kira, you could have knocked before you enter my room, you startled me from my peace."

"Pardon, my Lady. I thought you are still asleep so I hurried here to wake you. Lord Tobirama asked me to inform you that in a matter of an hour, they will be serving breakfast at the dining hall. Lord Hashirama also asked for you to join them," Kira said politely. 

"No problem, Kira. Ill just have to freshen up first and look decent before going there. My, my, people inside this mansion are so formal. I wonder how they even talk to each other. So, tell me, what should I wear for the day?" you seek for Kira's help though for sure you know better how to pick a dress for yourself. You just wanted to make Kira feel at ease as you observed she is a bit tensed too with the new environment. You walked to the dressing room attached near the walk-in bathroom to select a suitable dress. After few selection and few choices of clothes Kira gave, you have finally chosen something to wear. You headed straight to the bathroom for a quick bath as you only have an hour to prepare and you don't want to be late at the dining area and embarrass yourself to the Senju brothers and Lady Mito. After you prepared yourself, you took a last look on the mirror and judged yourself. You are wearing a traditional imperial long dress, with sleeves reaching your elbows. The combination of the color white, pink and red and the aesthetic designs make you look more vibrant and lively. The cloth is soft, felt more like a satin but is thicker and complimented your body curves well. You also fixed your wavy hair properly at the back, letting it fall down your waist then wear on light make up to give a more alive look to your face. Kira complimented your appearance and led you down the hallway to the dining area. You can already smell the aroma of food they served, it made your stomach growl a little, remembering that you did not had proper dinner last night.

You and Kira arrived at the dining area and you couldn't believe how spacious it is, similar to the empire palace dining room. The Senju mansion is really enormous, you thought. At the table, you see Hashirama sitting at the center, Lady Mito in his left side while Tobirama is sitting on the right. They are chatting when you arrived and all their eyes set on you in an instant. You can't help but feel heat on your face especially when your eyes met Tobirama's gaze. Unlike yesterday, his eyes are softened a little now, his face also not as stiff as he was yesterday. You let out a sigh of relief. At least I wont feel tensed the entire breakfast or else I will end up bloated, you said in silence. Without a word, Tobirama instructed you to occupy the seat beside him. A moment of silence surrounded the place as you sit beside him quietly. He is so near to you that your nose is filled with his pleasant scent. Your heart pounded a bit faster, makes you question how will you enjoy eating right now. You sighed deeply, calmed yourself and gave them an awkward smile. Lady Mito chuckled, she felt how tensed you are right now. Then all of a sudden, Hashirama broke the silence with another spontaneous laugh before saying," It is so good to see you here Lady Isabella, I hope you had a goodnight sleep. Feel free and enjoy the meal." His lively personality almost did not reciprocate as someone who is called the God of Shinobi. This man will give her mini heart attacks when he speak. The maids served you plate, utensils and drinking glass. The menu on the table makes you hungry, your stomach growls a little. Tobirama might have heard it so he initiated to fill in your plate with food. You gave him a nod as a sign of gratitude, then he smiled a little. You studied his looks, he is so near you and you can clearly see how his face is even more beautiful in the near sight. All of you began having your meal and talked in between. Hashirama asked you few questions about your life and interests, as well as Mito. Tobirama just listens. 

"I hope this set up is not giving you a hard time. Your father and mother have entrusted your safety to us. I know that you are aware of the situations from now and to the coming days, my Lady. We will be doing our best to help you," he said. Lady Mito also added that this marriage between you and Tobirama will create a much stronger alliance between the Land of Fire empire and Konoha. Hashirama told you to not worry about Tobirama on his acceptance of this marriage, then gave his brother a playful look. They seemed to be very close to each other. "I am aware of the agreements under this marriage, Lord Hashirama. My father and his imperial council have made it clear for me to understand the role I bear within this treaty. Your acceptance with my father's decision is also my honor. Above everything, I wish nothing but the best for the empire," you declared. Not to mention after seeing Tobirama, I feel that this will be a good deal, you uttered in silence.

"Very well, then. As I have the same intention as yours. Everything for the sake of our village. And I also hope that I wouldn't be a disappointment to you, Princess," Tobirama said. Oh believe me, you exceed my expectation Tobirama, another silent thought from you.

After breakfast, Mito took you to a tour around the Senju mansion as your future husband cannot accompany you for that since he and his brother had to attend conferences with the feudal lords and council to discuss the plans of the upcoming thanksgiving feast, as well as deals with other villages to plan the next projects for Konoha. Tobirama said that he will meet with her in the afternoon to discuss the plans for their wedding. A lot of thoughts ran into your mind after he said that, hoping that everything will go out well for both of you. "Are you okay, Lady Isabella?" Mito asked upon seeing your blank stares. You are at the front yard garden, she is showing you the flowers and the built in pond inside the compound. "Hmm, wedding jitters, huh? Don't worry it will pass. I'm sure Tobirama will help you feel more comfortable throughout your stay here. You might think he's stiff and strict, but that is just a portion of what he really is. You'll see in the coming days. Be patient with him."

"I can't help it. I'm sorry Lady Mito, I have spoiled your mood. Is this how you also feel when you married Lord Hashirama? Well, I did not mean to ask you things so personal but-

She interrupted you with a smile, "Well, at first, Hashirama and I have been on the same situation as you and Tobi. We barely know each other before our marriage so I also felt the same feeling. But my husband always made it sure that I wont feel any hastiness or doubt. He is always by my side ever since and we eventually learned to love each other."

"I see, I can feel you are happy with him. As for my situation, I don't know if we could also foster the same bond. He looks stiff and emotionless, unlike Lord Hashirama. Though deep inside I can feel that he is trying to validate me and my presence here by being polite and respectful," you said.

"Well i think that is a good head start. I know my brother-in-law isn't as showy as my husband but have you seen how he looks at you earlier?" she said in a teasing manner. You rolled your eyes then said, "You're making me overthink more, Lady Mito." Then she burst out a laugh. You smiled with that thought. Maybe in time both of you will get along well. Your tour around the mansion is almost done, you felt tired with all the walking and stuff. You asked Lady Mito to have a break which she gladly accepted. She said that she will be leaving for the day too and attend to the inaugural of the new building in the academy. As much as you wanted to go with her, you realized Tobirama will be back later for your wedding discussion and planning. You decided to read some books you found at the living room while you wait for him. With the exhaustion you felt from your early endeavors, you fell asleep while sitting on the large sofa.
