It was springtime now and Emily was full grown. She was a beautiful sow, looking like her father but with her mother's eyes. It made her parents happy to see her grown and healthy. Homer came out to feed him pigs and Mercy. He smiled and pet Emily, "Grew up big and healthy, didn't you girl? Look just like your father." He chuckled and filled the trough. He also filled a bowl of meat for Mercy. She turned out to be a good guard farm dog and was good at protecting the farm at night from predators. Wilbur and Katie smiled as they nuzzled each other, proud of both their daughters. Both Katie and Emily were ready for breeding season and Homer made sure the breeding barn was prepped and ready. He went to call up Conrad Hursh so he could bring over Bruce for Emily.

Emily was a bit shy and nervous to see Bruce again. In the past few months she was able to visit him and have play dates but seeing him grown up, would he feel different about her? Would it be weird if she started liking him more than a friend. She wondered what his thoughts would be. It was in the afternoon when Bruce was brought to the Zuckerman farm in a hog truck. He was a little a couple sizes bigger than Emily. When he was unloaded and saw her, he blushed at her beauty, "Emily? Is that you? Wow, you look uhm... N-Nice." She blushed at his kind words, "Th-Thank you Bruce. And it's wonderful to see you again. I've missed you. Guess we both look like our father's, huh?" She giggled a little. He chuckled, "I guess so." The two nuzzled each other like they always did when they saw each other.

Katie softly smiled and Wilbur nuzzled her, "I always had a good feeling about Bruce. Seems to be very kind and caring with our baby girl." He said. Katie softly smiled, "They remind me of you and I when we first met. Course we were both grown but we certainly grew close." He smiled, "We sure did, dear. And I'm grateful every day that Homer brought you to live here with me." He lovingly nuzzled his snout against hers. She blushed but smiled, "Flirting again are you, dear?" She gladly returned the affectionate nuzzles. "Well it is the season for affection, isn't it?" "It's always the right time for affection, my love." She smiled and nuzzled her head under his chin.

Homer took Katie and Wilbur to the breeding barn, along with Emily and Bruce. He of course put them in their own pens, wanting them to have their own spaces and plenty of room to just lay around and relax, not wanting to cause stress to the pigs with confined spaces. He fills their troughs and gives them plenty of nesting hay. "Alright, you all be good and I'll come check on you in a couple hours. I expect you boys to be good to your mates. No roughness or biting." He cautioned the pigs and the two males grunted in acknowledgement. Neither of them would ever hurt the two beautiful sows.

Both Katie and Emily were laying down with their mates. They hoped they would both soon be blessed with adorable piglets. "How are you feeling, love?" Wilbur asked Katie. "I'm fine, darling. I can't wait to feel little ones in my belly again." She lovingly licked his cheek. He smiled and licked back, then looked at the scar on her side left by the wolves, "I almost lost you back then. You were so brave." "Well you were brave, too. Willing to protect Emily and I with your life." She replied. Emily and Bruce smiled and nuzzled each other. "I hope I'll be as good a mother as my mom. She was so loving and attentive with me and my siblings." Emily said. "You'll be an amazing mother, they'll be so beautiful and energetic. They'll be perfect little piglets. And I'll be sure to keep our boys in line." He puffed out his chest like a proud father. She giggled with a snort, "I know you will, my strong Bruce." She licked his cheek.

The next day Homer came to check on the pigs, he smiled when he saw the males snuggling with their mates. He and Lurvey filled the troughs with slops. Both pairs of pigs woke up and came to eat. Katie and Emily were especially hungry and eagerly ate. Mercy came to see her pig parents and her out sister. "Mom, Dad, big sis, you guys ok?" The wolf asked. "We're fine, dear. Just a bit hungrier than usual this morning." Katie said. "I think that's a good sign that we'll be expecting. Isn't that one of the things you told me, mom?" Emily asked. The mother pig smiled, "Yes dear. It's not definite, but it's encouraging. The farmer will feel our bellies in a month to see if we're pregnant." She nuzzled her Emily, "You'll be such a wonderful mother, sweetie. But just remember, it's easy for newborns to overheat from the sun so it's best to stay in the shade as much as you can. Also, when they're old enough, teach them to roll in the mud, it helps to keep them cool." Emily smiled and nuzzled back, "I promise mom. But I appreciate the tips. Bruce will help me keep an eye on our piglets. Won't you dear?" "Always, love." Bruce smiled and nuzzled her.
