Eye To Eye

The four stared at the dead man, feeling the guilt of being too late. He was only half a body, his lower have completely ripped off.

"Horrible." Nobara whispered.

"Looks like...three victims, right?" Megumi asked causing Aki to look around.

"Seems so." She responded, nodding.

"Let's take this body back with us. This is that woman's son." Yuji said as he was crouched in front of the man holding his name tag. "His face isn't too mangled. How will she accept his death, if we can't show her a body to prove it?" Yuji was starting to feel angry. Megumi walked over and snatched Yuji up by his hoodie.

"We still have to find and verify two more. Leave that body behind." Megumi ordered causing Yuji to turn and look at him annoyed.

"That makes no sense! The way we got inside isn't even there anymore. We won't be able to come back for it later!" Yuji protested. Megumi grit his teeth, not having the tantrum he was throwing.

"I didn't say we'd come back! I said, leave it behind!" Megumi yelled at him. "I'm not about to risk my own life for someone I had no intention of saving in the first place." His words shocked them all. " so forget it!" Yuji spun to stand, gripping the collar of Megumi's uniform tightly as they faced eachother.

"You had no intention of saving him?!" Yuji accused in disbelief. "Are you kidding?"

"It's a juvie detention center and as a jujutsu sorcerer, I had access to information about this guy. Tadashi here, hit and killed a little girl in her way home from school while driving without a license. And that was his second offense!" Megumi told him harshly. "I know you're keen on this idea of saving lots of people and guiding them to proper deaths, but think how are you going to feel when someone you save goes on to kill someone else later." He spat. Aki and Nobara shared nervous gazes, they could tell this battle of morality wasn't going to end well.

"So?! Why'd you bother saving me then?!" Yuji asked as their staring contest progressed.

"You both need to cut it out! Ugh! What the hell is wrong with the two of you?! Are you guys both idiots?! This is hardly the time and place to be acting like- agh!" Nobara was cut off by something sucking her body through the floor.

"Kugi...saki?" Yuji stuttered with fear. Aki let out a sharp gasp as she and Megumi noticed the dog brutally killed in the cement wall. How didn't they notice? Why did it walk off? Aki rushed to the boys, standing between them.

"Itadori! Unagi! Time to run! We'll find her later, right now-" all three of them gasped, horror reaching their expressions as the cursed womb stood on the other side of the boys facing Aki. A cry left Yuji's lips as he swung slaughter demon at the cursed womb, but the injury reflected and severed his hand, the blade breaking in the process.

"Ita...dori.." Megumi gasped out still panicking. Aki felt like she couldn't breathe as she looked at Yuji's blood spurting out.

"I can't run away. Not when I've gotten this close." Yuji said taking off his belt and tying it around his stump to stop the blood flow. "Hey, Sukuna, if I die here, then you die too, right?" Yuji called out to the King of Curses. "So you have to help me out."

"Not true." A mouth formed beneath the bottom of one of the extra eyes on his cheek. "Even if the part of me that's inside you dies, there are eighteen other fragments of my soul still out there. Still... irritatingly enough, I don't yet have control of this body. So if you want to switch, go ahead and switch. But once you do, I'll kill this punk sorcerer, and take the Unagi for my prize." Sukuna said flicking his eyes gaze to Aki.
