Akari Unagi, mainly known as Aki, was there the day Toji Fushiguro got hit by Hollow Purple. She was just a kid. She chased after the man hoping to return his wallet, unknowing the battle that was raging on outside the safety of the office building walls.

All she remembered was a large purple orb consuming her vision, the warm stinging sensation all throughout her body, and the tears that fell when she landed on the ground. There was no way Gojo could've seen her behind Toji's body, he covered the small child completely, and he was too loopy to see her with his six eyes. After hearing Toji's final words, and his body fell, Satoru's breath hitched at the small girl lying on the ground whimpering. Her body was enveloped in pure purple cursed energy, her irises burning a vibrant deep purple as she twitched and cried silently. She'd just absorbed his hollow purple.

He'd never known anything like this to happen, not once, not ever.

Satoru did the only thing he could handle in that moment, and called Nanami. There was no way he could take care of Toji's son and this strange girl.

The next nine years were hard. Nanami dealt with the death of his partner Haibara, and switched jobs leaving jujutsu behind. Then he found that both sides were truly corrupt and disgusting in their own way, later choosing to return as a sorcerer and give that life to Aki. She deserved to make her own choice when she got older too, he thought. He couldn't just rob her from her potential.

Aki is the embodiment of the Hollow Purple technique, her power consists of purple orbs she can mold and throw where she needs the energy to hit. The technique fused with her dna and her blood, turning her irises purple permanently. And in truth, she didn't know what her real eye color even was, before that day. She barely even remembered her life before Gojo and Nanami.

The day Toji Fushiguro died, Akari Unagi was born.

Now, fifteen and about ready to start at Jujutsu high, she was spending the day with her dad.

"Dad! Can we please call uncle Satoru and make him pay for sushi?!" Aki begged.

"You know I detest that guy. But...for you, I suppose we can. As long as he pays." Nanami said sternly.

"Yes! I love you!" Aki jumped on her dad squeezing him tightly around the neck as he sighed and pulled out his phone, FaceTiming the blindfolded idiot, as named in his phone.

"Nanami! How are you, you handsome devil?" Gojo's voice made her snatch his phone and walk away ignoring her father, plopping on the couch.

"Hi uncle Satoru! Will you pretty please take us out for sushi? It can be like a starting sorcery school gift, huh? Please?" She begged, causing him to laugh softly.

"Alright... I bet your dad's gonna stick me with the bill huh?" He asked narrowing his eyes through his blindfold.

"Well- yeah. Or he said he won't come, and I know how much you like seeing him." Aki stated casually.

"Right. Meet you there, send the address and I'll make it." Gojo said with a grin, making Aki scream in victory.

"Akari! Inside voices, remember?" Nanami scolded gently.

"Sorry. I'm just excited." She said as Gojo hung up and she returned his phone.

The trio ate dinner together, Megumi soon arriving late and bored as usual. He hated when Gojo called him out anywhere. Aki quieted down, avoiding looking at the boy too much. He didn't like her, and she knew that quite well. She was too loud and opinionated for him to stand, and she could always tell when something she said bothered him. He'd tsk and grumble to Gojo about wanting to leave, and though it made her nervous, she'd ignore him and talk to her father instead.

One downside of Aki's cursed technique is she was too in tune with sensing cursed spirits. The hair on the back of her neck stood, and her eyes glowed a little bright as she paused mid sentence.

"Aki? Hello? Earth to Akari!!" Gojo sang, snapping his fingers in her face.

"S-special grade. Incoming." She muttered, slowly dragging her gaze to the street outside of the window. It looked like a cursed womb, it was taunting her almost. As if it knew she could sense it. And then it disappeared.

Aki tensed, losing the sensation of its presence, looking out of the window frantically.

"I don't see anything." Nanami said confused.

"Sorry. Maybe I'm just nervous for school or something, forget it." Aki said crossing her arms and shaking her head.

The dinner continued on, with Aki stealing glances out of the window every now and then. Gojo saw what she did, but chose to stay quiet. It was obvious curses were drawn to her presence, she was an anomaly after all. Something that wasn't supposed to be created, and he fought tooth and nail to save her life from the higher ups. It wasn't right that they thought they could control who lives or dies. They weren't gods.

Nanami's phone rang disrupting the tables chatter, answering it and letting his expression turn serious. After he hung up Aki's heart sank.

"Sorry, kiddo. I have to leave for a few days, but I'll make it back in time for your first day, okay?" Nanami reassured and she just nodded. He kissed her head and excused himself from the table, heading out.

"I'm sorry, you can stay with us if you want?" Gojo offered to which she lit up instantly. Megumi sighed, sinking in his booth making her shoulders droop slightly.

"It's okay, uncle Satoru. I should be okay home by myself." Aki said looking down at her fingers.

"Nonsense! You and Megumi can share his room, there's no reason you should be alone before your big day." Gojo waved her off, not taking no for an answer as usual. And he got a bad feeling that curse would come for her when she was alone.

"Seriously? Why my room?" Megumi groaned.

"Oh come on, Megoomi, you used to have sleepovers all the time as kids." Gojo pointed out, to which the boy rolled his eyes.

"None that I asked for, and none that I enjoyed. That was all...." He meant to say Tsumiki. But she's just recently fallen into a coma.

"You're such an asshole." Aki spat, glaring at him as hard as she could. Megumi snapped his gaze up to her partially shocked. She never spoke out, and she was rarely ever rude.

"Akari. Not nice, apologize." Gojo said somewhat firmly. She looked to Gojo and sighed before looking back to Megumi.

"I'm sorry, Fushiguro." She said guiltily.

"Whatever. I don't need your apology." Megumi brushed her off, causing her to give Gojo a look that said 'I'm never doing that again'.

Aki had to borrow sweats and a tee from Megumi, neither of them speaking as they got ready for bed. She grabbed the pillow she knew he didn't use, and a spare blanket from the closet and headed for the couch, giving him the space he wanted so bad. It wasn't like they were friends anyway, sleeping in his bed would've been awkward and uncomfortable.

She made up her bed, saying goodnight out loud to whoever chose to listen, and laid down. Her eyelids heavy as ever, allowing her to slip into the black abyss quicker than usual.
