I have always been fond of my grandfather's house. It was nestled in the rolling hills, Gates all around the house, surrounded by a forest that seemed ancient and full of secrets. But when he passed away, the house became something more—a quiet reminder of all the stories he had shared, all the books he had read, all the trips he took her on, all the presents he gave her, all the meals they shared, and the things he told her that she'd never quite understood. When my family inherited the house, my mother and father decided it would be nice to move into it so it wouldn't be collecting dust.

"You ready to start somewhere new sweetie?"

I've lived here for most my life yet mother acts as if I have lived with her my whole life, when I was younger mother and father only talked to me when it was my birthday or a holiday that they ended up "forgetting" about.

"ready as I'll ever be I guess" I have missed this place but the reason were coming back upsets me. Grandpa died recently because of a stroke.

"Oh don't be such a downer Liasha, anyways your father will be meeting us at the house after he finishes up with his trip. I was looking at pictures of the house and gosh does this house need new decorations I'm thinking of getting people to renovate the house but your father said we should wait becau-"

Mother talks to much, I know she is trying to connect with me due to being out of my life for so long, at least that's what father told me when he called me during one of his trips. But whenever we talk for a while I end up just tuning her out due to getting bored of the conversation. According to Melissa I'm more of a stay in the back and tune people out kind of gal, speak of the devil guess who just texted me.

Melissa

How's the 4 hour car ride going?

Liasha

Tiring, mother dearest is talking my ear off...I think?

Melissa

You should really stop tuning out your mom

she might say something important one day

Liasha

😂 Funny joke Melissa, I didn't know you could tell a good joke

Especially after last week

Melissa

I hope your mother crashes that car.

Liasha

A girl can dream 🥲

Melissa

🤣🤣🤣

"Are you texting that Melissa girl?" mother hates Melissa because she thinks Melissa is just like her father, who cheated on my mom in middle school.

"No I'm texting Beyoncè."

"Don't get sassy with me Liesha! That girl is bad news!"

"Whatever you say mother."

Like I said on the last chapter I am new to this so if you have any tips please send them in the comments or on my inbox!
