In Paradis Island the man holds Tomas in his arms and places him down on some hay and pulls out a small bottle of smelling salt and holds it up to Tomas’s nose as he moves around before jumping up

Tomas: Pieck!

Tomas breathes heavily as a tear runs down his eye as he looks around before seeing the man

Tomas: W-Who are you? And how did you know my name?

???: Might as well, introduce myself. My name is Grisha Jaeger. I was a friend of your parents. And as how I know your name, your parents would bring it up many times during meetings before you were even a thing.

Tomas: O-Oh…Where am I?

Grisha: You in Paradis Island.

Tomas: The place where all the devils live?

Grisha: In Marley’s eyes, yes. This is were all Eldians live, besides the ones back in the Internment Zone.

Tomas glances down

Tomas: Are…My parents dead?

Grisha looks at him and sighs

Grisha: In a way…yes. There’s nothing you can do, only kill them.

Tomas: Mr.Jeager.

Grisha: Hmm?

Tomas: How come you’re not like those other things?

Grisha: Those things are called, Titans. And I’m not like them because…I think it’s best I explain it all when we arrive back to my house.

Tomas nods and stands up from the hay

Tomas: What is life like here?

Grisha: It’s best we walk so you can truly see everything. And do not be worried there will be no Titans around here. It’s just a path back to the walls. I’ll explain something as we continue walking.

Tomas: I understand, Mr. Jaeger. Lead the way.

Grisha nods and begins walking away as Tomas follows behind him before walking besides him as he looks around at the peaceful surroundings of the trees and flowers

Grisha: So…Tomas. What truly happened.

Tomas: Huh?

Grisha: How did you and your parents get caught?

Tomas: I don’t know…We were just having breakfast…And then we heard a knock on the door, and then these officers and troops arrested us…

Grisha: I see…I’m truly sorry, Tomas.

Tomas: Hmm…Mr. Jaeger how do things work around here?

Grisha: In this place it’s just the same as, Marley. People living their lives, merchants and military. Everything you can think of back in, Marley is the same is here. Only difference is the military.

Tomas: How so?

Grisha: There’s three branches here. Garrison, who protect the walls and to deal with Titans come close to the walls. Military Police, are more of less in the name just police with some working for the government. And finally the Scout Regiment, Those who explore the walls and fight off the Titans.

Tomas: Huh. Are you in any of those branches?

Grisha: No, I’m a doctor.

Tomas: A doctor?

Grisha: Yes.

Tomas: Can you please teach me.

Grisha: Huh? Why?
