Prologue, P-2 : A/N

Four individuals dressed in robes with emblems on their backs stood at the center of a building that resembled a church. They were arranged in a circle on the cobblestone floor, with a red marking beneath them.

"An entire quarter of waiting, all leading up to this moment! At last, my research is going to be proved!"
This individual, was a royal researcher for the Akatsan World Records; determined to present a breakthrough to pave the way for interdimensional research and travel. Surrounding him, were his interested colleagues and high-ranking supervisors. He could hear the chatter of his superiors in the distance with the help of his 'magnifications.'

"--If there's even a sign of dark energy being used, arrest him immediately."

(Goddamn fools, you think I, Yirvan Pronvel, would resort to those filthy underhanded techniques? Well, if I lose my mind, probably.)

"Shall we commence?"

One of them began to chant a spell, and the rest joined in soon after. As they continued chanting, the circle began to glow with a bright yellow tint, and the lines turned white. Yirvan made his way towards the center of the circle and presented a glowing object in his right hand.

"Vacmite, in itself, is borderline useless. Diluting it in molten mithril that's been directly exposed to a mana core however..."
He placed the metal on the ground, directly at the center. Suddenly, beams of bright lights erupted from it. Wind blew in all directions from the amount of energy released, causing some of the spectators and chanters to stumble slightly. They've managed to maintain their formation in the end.

"BEHOLD! THIS IS THE RESULT OF MY FIVE YEARS OF RESEARCH!"
His colleagues, including his superiors, shielded their eyes from the extreme brightness of the light in front of them. Yirvan couldn't help but laugh, as he was finally about to get what he was achieving for.
(Ten years. For ten years I've been licking the boots of those goddamn bastards at the academy just to get a promotion. But now, I'll be the one taking advantage of everything...)

Appearing above him, was a portal. The first step was a success. Now, all they had to do, was send the testing package to their location. The package was just a simple hoverer, located right outside the building.

"HAHA! THERE IT IS!"
He looked at the descending vehicle, and stepped back a little bit. He couldn't help but feel a little nervous though.
But then, suddenly, somebody called at him from behind.

"S-Sir Yirvan!"
"Huh? What now?! Did something happen?"
- (The demonstration... It's working fine though! What's his reason to come here?)
"Sir..."
The individual looked confused at what's happening in front of him.
"The mark on the hoverer hasn't been triggered."
"What in god's name are you--"
Yirvan realized the problem.
"Wait, if the package is still there, then... what's that--"

The portal suddenly expanded, releasing tremendous amounts of energy. The ground trembled; cracks began to form on the walls, prompting Yirvan and his superiors to announce an evacuation order.
Outside, the partly cloudy skies were now filled with fast, dark ones that swirled over the building. The storm cloud reached out to the horizon, affecting multiple cities, towns, and villages. Some were confused, some thought the world was ending, and some were balling their eyes out for the paperwork.

Yirvan tried to stop the chaos by removing the vacmite metal from the circle center. He knew how foolish and suicidal this was, but he didn't want to cause further trouble.
(I'm already gonna get punished for this, so why not try to lessen my sentence?) Is what he thought.
He shielded his face, sprinted towards it, and kicked away the metal from the circle. No immediate results were seen though, so he then thought to erase the markings on the ground.

"SIR YIRVAN LOOK OUT!"
The researcher instinctively looked up at that moment, and saw the supposed-to-be transport descending on top of him. For some reason though, he just froze up.
(What is that--)
Fortunately, he got saved by a random guard in the nick of time by tackling him away from the drop zone. The vehicle hit the ground with a force of a dragon's stomp, creating a small crater in its wake.
Everyone who's still inside the building, looked at it with shock, and awe.

"A-A landmover? That was not part of the... plan..."
Looking at the reaction of a random high-ranking military officer in the building, the vehicle was definitely different from the existing designs and prototypes the empire had. Yes it was tracked, had a large cannon, and a turret, but the officer could tell that it was a bit smaller compared to the latest P-73A and A-68 models. It also had some kind of sand-colored paint job for unknown reasons.

"...What's happening outside?"
"Sir! Things are falling out from the..."
"...Is that a... person?"

"How is this happening?"
Yirvan became dumbfounded at the sight in front of him. Dozens of people began to fall from the clouds like rain, and like rain, they leave splashes onto the ground. Red splashes, to be exact.
One person just landed near them, so he rushed towards him and...

"Oh my--his head..."
"Goodness... gracious... I'm gonna be sick--"
One of the researcher's colleagues, Shelford, confronted him about the matter.
"Yirvan, what the fuck did you do?!"
"I-I don't..."
"You're gonna have to explain this bullshit to the emperor himself!"
"Hey! You're the one who delivered the ingredients to me, so you're getting included here--"

The argument continued on for a few moments, before getting interrupted by loud crashes from random descending vehicles hitting the ground. No one knew where did these things, or people came from.

"Heaven's Rapture," is what the normal folk called it, since all of the people who fell from the skies, were dead. Thousands of burials were conducted, and graveyards were expanded to accommodate the new residents. Nothing survived the fall.

...Well, except for one.

//End of prologue//

First "remaster" was kind of a shitty attempt at humor and MC became waaay too cringe for me. I'm gonna do this all over again.
