...Oh damn, what's this?

After about an hour of powerful sprinting, I finally arrived at some crossroads. In front of me were multiple signs on a metal pole. However, I can't read any of them since they're all in a different language. Ugh, I guess I'm gonna have to use my senses again...
Hm, by looking at the paths the signs point to, I can guess the most used one by inspecting the soil. If there are markings, then that could be the right way. Also, I wanna test out something...

I dropped down onto the ground and began to sniff. Yeah, I'm testing my sense of smell now. If I smell something weird, then I'm gonna use that as a sign.
The scent of soil, rocks, metals in the ground, organic - probably from some insect, decaying wood, and recently something that...
...wait, what is this?... It smells familiar... It's some kind of chemical... It's from... Oh, I remember now... This single drop is...

Gasoline.
Is it about a few days old? I can't tell. If there's gas here... then cars exi--OH! So does it mean that they're in an industrial era or something, maybe even in a modern one?! If they're actually developed then... holy shit, I'm gonna have so many questions in my mind (...or myself).

The more I sniffed, the more I knew where the vehicle came from. A trail of this scent continued down the path to my right. Finally! I'm gonna be seeing them! Fantasy races, pets, technology! I want to know them all!

Wait for me, world!

(Boom)

I sprinted for a while, passing by numerous landmarks indicating that someone had been there before. I didn't find anybody yet though, so I continued further. I even consumed some weird animals like a yellow-striped fox-like animal and a goddamn flamingo while on the way since I got a bit bored.

This path's quite long.
But I felt like I was getting close. I can feel it! The smell of civilization! Just a bit more! It's extremely near! It's---

I stopped.
I turned to my right, looking at a cleared-out opening of the forest. At the center, was a house made out of logs and planks. A cabin, to be exact.
I couldn't believe my eyes at first. A man-made structure! I've found them! Finally! After that long fucking journey in the forest, my first-ever interaction with the locals happens here! These people are surely gonna be my first acquaintances, so I'm gonna have to be presentable.

Check my clothes, my face, clean off the dirt, check my breath...
Alright, I'm fine (maybe). Let's go and meet them!

I slowly walked into the front area of the cabin, constantly looking around for somebody. Seemed like nobody was home at first, but when I approached the porch of the cabin. The front door suddenly opened, catching me off guard. I got nervous since it was my first time meeting somebody from another world, so I cleared my throat and waited for them to come out. It was a man, probably in his thirties or forties, wearing an outfit that you'll only typically see in a historical European movie from the Victorian era. Dark green leather vest, a striped long-sleeved shirt, and some gray pants. This man is going to be the first thing I'm gonna have a conversation within this world.

That's one small step for the virus, one giant leap for me.

I waved at him with a smile on my face, and he responded with... He responded with...

He... What...

...What the fuck???

"&#5$*^#*$&%?!"
He pointed a hatchet towards me--wait, where the hell did he get that?! I didn't see anything!

"&*% &*%%#*( #*($ *% &*%^$&# %^() *(% #$#&$(%!"
I--I don't understand... What does he mean by that?! I haven't even done anything! What's the problem?!
