Leilani hoped she didn't really upset Sirius, but she didn't want her brother to get into trouble because she didn't follow the demands of their parents. The young girl had found a compartment that two girls were sitting in, one from Ravenclaw and the other from Gryffindor. She didn't know who they were, but they seemed to recognise her. But no matter that Leilani began her reading her new book, 'War of the worlds' by H.G. Wells, she had found it in a small book shop while in diagonally with Roldolphus and Bellatrix, but hadn't found the time to read it.

The Lestrange girl had been reading for almost 2 hours before the Ravenclaw girl decided to break the silence. "I'm Odora Clemente. This is Sophia Lewis. I just noticed what book you are reading, I read it last year, and it has stayed one of my favourites." She spoke quietly but firm, not the type of firm her mother and father had but a matter of fact type. This intrigued Leilani, so she folded the page she was up to and placed the book on her lap.

"I'm Leilani Lestrange. I quite enjoy the novel at the moment. It's not something I would usually read, but it's nice to have a change." She said, giving the girl a small smile. Both girls grinned back at her, sending a shiver down her spine. The three girl spoke about books they had read, which moved into books they wanted to read. Leilani enjoyed the company of the girls, she didn't really know either of them and they didn't really know her, it was like a fresh start. She hoped that the two others would still speak to her once they were at school. Not many people did. It was really just Sirius, Regulus, and Roldolphus, and that hadn't bothered her, but know that she thought about it she realised how lonely she truly was.

Back in the compartment that held the four Gryffindor boys, James, Remus, and Peter had been exchanging worried looks amongst each other, as Sirius hadn't spoken a word since he tried to speak to Leilani. "Umm, Sirius mate, you alright? You've been pretty quiet for the past couple of hours." James questioned, his eyes staring softly at the Black boy.

"She said we couldn't talk anymore." He finally said after, what felt like an eternity of silence. The three other boys worried faces turned into shocked ones. Sirius and Leilani had known each other all their lives. They were best friends. Whatever drove the girl away must have been serious.

"Did she say why? It must have been serious if she-"

"No, she didn't. It's probably because I ran away, and her parents won't want me to have a bad influence on her." He said his tone, a mix of frustration, confusion, and sadness. He's lost his first friend because he couldn't keep in his feelings. She had been going through the same thing for the same amount of time, and she was strong enough to stay. In that moment, he felt weak, as if he were back standing in front of James' front door covered in scratches and bruises, soaked from the heavy rain outside. "I've left her. She's still in that horrid home, and I left her alone." A silent tear ran down his cheek, but he quickly wiped it off, so hard that his face had a red mark across it.

"She can leave if she wants to Sirius, don't blame that on yourself." James tried to reason with the boy. He had been through enough already. He didn't need to feel more negative emotions.

"That's just it, though. She can't. Her house is so much worse than mine, mentally anyway. She doesn't have spells used against her. At least she never said she did. But the why they speak to and about her is disgusting. It will be so much worse now." The distressed boy rambled, James didn't know how to answer that, they boys had never seen Sirius so distraught.

"What happens in her family is not something you can change, Sirius. If she wanted to leave, she has options, we can help her, but until she speaks to you personally about it, maybe you should just leave her." Remus says, his voice quiet and questioning. Sirius just nods and turns his head to look back out the window.

When the train finally arrives at hogsmead station, Leilani, she leaves towards the black carriges with Odora and Sophia. It was strange for the Lestrange girl to be seen with anyone but Sirius or her brother, so when students saw the three girls walking together, there were certainly some odd looks given to them.

The carriages waited in a long line, and to most students they looked as though the pulled themselves along the windy hill, but Leilani knew that the skeleton like creature called a thesteral, dragged the students to their school. She knew why she was able to see them. Her parents never really hid what they did around the house, so one day, when she was 6, a lady sat in her father's office with her back to the door. The door was open slightly, only enough for her to see the women. They were arguing about some 'lord', and then the lady stood up and turned to leave the out the door. But before she could get there, the room turned green, her eyes made contact with Leilani's as she fell to the ground.
