"You're too sick", the doctor reported. "This trip isn't possible".
"I see. And here I thought I was getting better", I mumbled to myself, but it was clear enough for the doctor and maid to hear.
"Am afraid you can't see your family, at least not at the moment", ignoring him, I turned to my window that viewed the garden. Unlike my old five-stairs mansion, this small floored house surrounded by flowers from everywhere, is the best place for healing. Somewhere in my heart, I felt relief when he said I wouldn't be leaving this place anytime soon.
"I will give your maid your medicines, and remember you have to take them regularly after your meals", the doctor, fixing his eyeglasses aware of my distraction, sighed and turned to the maid. "Please give her this after every meal", he handed her something I didn't quite notice, but I could see my naive maid taking it from him with a shy smile playing on her lips. She always wore that smile when the doctor visited, and it made me assume that maybe she had a small crush on him. I glanced at them before returning my gaze to the view outside the window.
Now, where the hell would I find another nice gardener like that?
The maid, accompanying the doctor to the door, sighed in relief before heading back to me, without even looking, I could tell she was marching toward me. Feeling the hands on my cheeks, she turned my head gently lifting it to her gaze, her purplish eyes searching for mine. "You heard, right? You better take your meds, young lady", she pout.
"And you better resign", I glared at her, turning my head away from her astonished look.
"Resign?"
"Yes, quit and get married to the doctor already", I scowled.
"The doctor?", she crooked an eyebrow. "My lady, have you been feeling unwell?", she reached the back of her hand to my forehead. I slapped it away, so irked by now. "How dare you touch your lady like that? Did you forget you work for me? A poor peasant like you shouldn't carelessly touch her master like that-", she held my cheeks with both her hands, turning my head to her again, leaning this time to my eye level. "My lady, I'm not going to leave you", she spoke so calmly, her short bang strand of hair falling to her forehead.
"It's...it's okay. I will find another maid...", I bite my lower lip. "I don't want...want yo..you to se...secrifice your happ-".
"My lady!", I closed my mouth shut, rejecting any eye contact.
"I won't leave you", her vehement stare burned into me before sighing. "Am not in love with the doctor, and I honestly I don't know what makes you say that".
"Yo..your smile", I confessed embarrassed.
"What?", she let go of my face, confusion plastered on her expression. "My...smile?"
I nod, "Yes, your smile. You always seemed extra happy when the doctor arrived. "
"Oh...that", she looked away for a bit, running a hand through her long silky hair. Her cheeks turning red... I wonder why?
Does she actually like him?
Was I right?
Why isn't she saying anything?
